Evolution
Trivia
Origin
Its design is very close to that of a coelacanth, an ancient fish that was once thought extinct until members of the species were caught live. They are considered living fossils, because they are virtually unchanged from their prehistoric forms.
Name Origin
Relicanth's name seems to be a combination of relic, meaning "something old that has survived the passage of time," and coelacanth. Its Japanese name is simply based on coelacanth.
