Origin
Breloom is based on a mushroom. It is also possible that the macropodidae and/or dromaeosaurids helped serve as a basis for this Pokémon.

Breloom's name may be a combination of umbrella and mushroom. Its Japanese name is likely a combination of 茸 kinoko, mushrooms, and 傘 kasa, umbrella.
