.4 is a glitch Pokémon that can only be found by doing Method #3 of the Mew glitch and using a Pokémon with a special stat of 194. When in battle, it appears as a small floating dot. When traded to the Yellow version, it becomes a different glitch: pPkMnp (with the #230). Its cry is the sound that is played during the "Poké Ball-shaking" animation when one is attempting to capture a Pokémon.

Biology

Gender differences

.4 is a genderless species, as the only games it was present in did not indicate Pokémon genders.

Special abilities

.4 is one of the few glitch Pokémon to learn TM28, a powerful glitch move with good power, (relatively) good accuracy, and an animation like Explosion. It also learns TM05, which ups its evasion stat by two stages.

Behavior

When its Pokédex data is entered, it will freeze the game. To get around this, make sure that Magneton is registered as at least "seen" in your Pokédex, as the bit of data noting you've seen Magneton also notes you've already captured .4, hence, the Pokédex entry won't come up when you actually catch it.

The "dangers" of .4

Players are advised not to save this glitch to their game (or even to catch it in the first place), as it has been known to completely erase saved data IF it uses Super Glitch, which it starts out knowing. ([1]) Of the 24 known glitch Pokémon found in the Red, Blue and Yellow versions, it is considered to be one of the most hazardous because of this move (See [2]). However, it should be noted that should .4 forget this glitch move, it becomes absolutely harmless and perfectly safe to raise. Hence, it is not .4 that is dangerous, but rather its glitchy move.

Habitat

.4 is found mainly near Lavender Town, due to the Mew glitch.
