Chien-Pao may be based on a snow leopard, although its elongated body is more similar to that of weasels or linsangs.
Name origin
Chien-Pao and Paojian may be a combination of 劍 / 剑 jiàn (Chinese for sword) and 豹 bào (Chinese for leopard).
