Anistar City (Japanese: ヒャッコクシティ Hyakkoku City) is a city located in the Kalos region.
Places of interest
Anistar Gym
- Main article: Anistar Gym
The Anistar Gym is the official Gym of Anistar City, whose Gym Leader is Olympia and specializes in Psychic-type Pokémon.
Café
In the northern part of town is a café the player pays to enter. Daily, patrons inside will show off a Pokémon that is indexed by the Pokédex if previously unseen. More Pokémon may be seen depending on where the player chooses to sit, including Legendary Pokémon. If the player has seen every Pokémon available inside the Café, the waiter will comment and ask if they are sure about paying to come in. If the player decides not to enter, the waiter will tell the player that he will make the Café into something they will love by their next visit.
Hidden Power Checker
After providing the player TM10 (Hidden Power), a man in the house next to the boutique will tell the player what type Hidden Power will act as for any Pokémon he is shown, provided that it can learn the move by TM.
Sundial
The Sundial to the north of the city is used in the post-game to upgrade the Mega Ring. This also allows the player to find the Mega Stones hidden throughout Kalos.
When the player defeats Serena or Calem at Kiloude City, they inform the player that Professor Sycamore is waiting for them in Anistar City at the sundial with info on Mega Stone and the Mega Ring. At the sundial, Professor Sycamore tells the player that he has discovered a way to level up the Mega Ring. He tells the player to touch it against the sundial, and after doing so, he reveals that from 8 PM to 9 PM, the Mega Ring will resonate with Mega Stones that are underground. However, this will only be possible at that time, when the sun is shining through the sundial. It will not work at any other time.
Old man's house
In the house two spots north of the boutique, an old man can be found depressed because of the death of his wife. He will ask the player to lend him any Pokémon level 5 or under to keep him company for the time being. After defeating the Elite Four, the player can return to the house only to find that the old man has passed away and left behind a Poké Ball containing the Pokémon lent to him, a letter thanking the player for their helping him in his last moments, and a Comet Shard. However, if the player has a full team, they cannot take the Pokémon back until an open spot is made. Also, if the player has already defeated the Elite Four, they will need to do it again in order to receive the Comet Shard.
Memory Girl
Next to the entrance of the Pokémon Center is a girl who can read Pokémon memories. She can tell the player things like whether the Pokémon was hatched from an Egg, or a particular situation where it was used in battle. If a Pokémon is traded from another player or is fed treats by someone, she can tell the player these facts as well. For example, a Bulbasaur hatched and traded to another player might generate a message like this: "Venusaur hatched from an Egg and saw Trainer 1 for the first time at...a large city. The Pokémon remembers that it was restless. And...Venusaur was raised by Trainer 2 and evolved at a snow-swept road. The Pokémon remembers that it got light-hearted."
