The second set in Pokémon Mezastar's Double Chain series was released on September 15, 2022. It consisted of 70 tags and was the eleventh set overall.

Information

Super-ancient Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre were the focal Pokémon of the second Double Chain series set, both of which were included as Grade 6 Superstar Pokémon and would undergo Primal Reversion at the start of a battle. The two were accompanied by Superstar Pokémon with other powered-up mechanics: Duraludon and Alcremie could both Gigantamax, Lugia and Ho-Oh could both Dynamax, while Zygarde and Legendary beasts Raikou, Entei, and Suicune could all use Double Moves. The majority of Grade 5 Star Pokémon also bore additional abilities: Legendary titans Regirock, Regice, and Registeel could all use Z-Moves, Charizard could Gigantamax, Dracozolt and Dracovish could both Dynamax, Garchomp and Metagross could both Mega Evolve, Grimmsnarl and Alolan Ninetales could both summon Super Tag partners, while the trio of Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott could all use Chain Attacks. Previously featured Superstar Pokémon Xerneas, Yveltal, and Greninja could be encountered and obtained as Legacy Tags from October 20, 2022.

Up until November 14, 2022, players scanning their Memory tag at any time would earn a stamp as part of the set's Weekly Stamp rewards. Using a Memory tag with the same profile in a subsequent week would earn players another stamp. Players accumulating two stamps would unlock a trench coat Fashion Item to customize their avatar; four stamps would unlock a Superstar Sensor; five stamps would unlock a Zygarde Emblem; six stamps would unlock another Superstar Sensor. Players with the Zygarde Emblem would then have a chance to add Complete Forme Zygarde to their Support Pokémon roster during Get in Battle! mode. Players with Memory tags could also unlock up to three new Partner Pokémon from this set: Pidgey, Elekid, and Magby, which could be evolved through to their final stages by amassing Star Points. Double Star Points could be earned in two stints over the course of the set: between October 18 and 31, 2022 and between November 10 and 21, 2022. Players using the Mezastar Club at any time during the duration of this set could also receive a digital Support Pokémon Ticket for a Tangrowth and a Present Ticket to unlock silver hair and spiral cheeks Fashion Items. A limited Present Ticket for Fashion Items that comprised a Halloween poncho, Halloween shoes, and spiral candy could be redeemed through the club between October 18 and 31, 2022.

The Trainer and Battle lineup for this set included two returning Trainer classes in Designer and Police Officer, two new Trainer classes in Fashion Leader and Pâtissière, and a new Star Trainer named Shaolo. Mezastar Club members could redeem Battle Tickets for each opponent and challenge them to unlock new customization options for their avatar. The Masters Eight Tournament anime tie-in that began in the previous set continued in this one; Leon, Cynthia, Lance, and Steven could randomly challenge players as special Trainer and Battle opponents. Players were given the option to dispense a tag featuring one of the Trainers' Pokémon after a battle with them—these Pokémon could not be encountered while playing Get in Battle! mode. Bug Catcher Girl Yoshika and Star Trainer Masahito were the Trainer Tag Battle opponents for this set. A special Battle Ticket was also available through the Mezastar Club as part of the Challenge from Unbeatable Champion Leon campaign, a ranked event that ran between October 8 and November 2, 2022.[1] Leon would use the same team as Trainer and Battle; participants who defeated him in battle would unlock a champion's outfit and pennon Fashion Items for their avatar, with an alternate-color version available to those clearing the Battle Ticket challenges. Players with the top 100 scores following the end of the campaign were also awarded a certificate.

Between October 27 and November 21, 2022, players with Memory tags could engage in a new gameplay feature: Tournament (Japanese: トーナメント), an eight-person single elimination competition featuring Trainer and Battle opponents.[2] The Tournament for this set was named Masters Eight Tournament (Japanese: マスターズトーナメント Masters Tournament) and emulated the same event from the anime, with the player's avatar randomly taking the place of one of the participants. Opponents used the same Pokémon as per their Trainer and Battle appearances. Defeating an opponent for the first time would unlock a Support Pokémon Ticket featuring, in most cases, their signature Pokémon. Players could also unlock Ash Ketchum roleplay set Fashion Items with their first Tournament victory and winning an entire Tournament would earn players an in-game trophy. Tournament could be accessed through Memory tag mode, which required players to press the "1" and "2" buttons simultaneously whilst on the title screen.
