Route 120 is a lengthy path that runs southeastward from Fortree City to Route 121. The path meanders past several small ponds and lush vegetation, where Pokémon that can camouflage themselves tend to hide. A small cave named Scorched Slab and a mysterious set of ruins called the Ancient Tomb are both located here.
Trainers with a PokéNav by their names will be registered in the Trainer's Eyes or Match Call function after the first battle, and may have a rematch with the player with higher-level Pokémon.
A colored background means that the Pokémon can be found in this location in the specified game. A white background with a colored letter means that the Pokémon cannot be found here.
After defeating Gabby and Ty on Route 118, the news team can now be found in the northeast corner of the route. Accept their challenge and give them another great interview afterwards!
Scorched Slab
Scorched Slab is a small cave jutting up out of the northern pond. The entrance lies at water level, so the single chamber inside is mostly flooded. The rest of the cave is made up of a single slab of rock that gives the cave its name.
The route splits near its south end, with the western trail leading up to a plateau. Speak to the Beauty near the stairway each day to receive a certain Berry. This Berry is one of five rare varieties, which is determined by the last digit of a Trainer's ID number.
An unusual arrangement of large stones can be found on the western plateau. It is rumored to mark the resting place of a certain Pokémon, but there seems to be no way inside.

Several Grunts from Team MagmaR/Team AquaS can be seen gathered at the top of the large stairway. One of them mentions orders about moving out to Mt. Pyre, and the group leaves toward the south.
Safari Zone
The Safari Zone
The Safari Zone is a special nature preserve, with a rich environment houses many different kinds of Pokémon. It is only open to Trainers participating in the Safari Game. Its varied terrain means that some areas are only accessible by Mach Bike or Acro Bike.

The cost to participate in the Safari Game is $500. Participants are loaned 30 Safari Balls and encouraged to catch any Pokémon they may find, but there is a catch. Rather than weaken wild Pokémon in battle, Trainers must use unconventional tactics in order to attempt capture. Selecting Pokéblock throws a piece of the candy, distracting the Pokémon and making it less likely to run. Select Go Near, and the closer proximity makes the Pokémon easier to catch but more likely to run. Select Ball to throw a Safari Ball and attempt capture! The game ends when all 30 Safari Balls have been used or 500 steps have been taken.
The preserve is divided into four sections. Area 1, in the southeast, includes the front gate. Area 2, in the southwest, holds two large ponds. Area 3, in the northwest, has several sandy areas and may only be reached with the Mach Bike. Area 4, in the northeast, is a rugged environment that may only be reached with the Acro Bike.
Pokéblock feeders
There are a total of seven feeding stations scattered throughout the preserve. Each of these feeders can be used to display a single Pokéblock at a time. While the effect is active, all Pokémon found within its 5-step range will have a Nature where its preferred flavor matches that of the Pokéblock. This effect wears off after 100 steps have been taken.
Route 122
Route 122
Route 122 is a simple ocean route stretching between Route 121 to the north and Route 123 to the south. A large mountain known as Mt. Pyre juts up from the water's surface.

Mt. Pyre is a large mountain that houses the graves of departed Pokémon. Many grieving Trainers visit to pay their respects, while other thrill-seeking Trainers can be found hunting for Ghost-type Pokémon.

Speak to the elderly woman in the northeast corner. She warns that all sorts of beings wander the mountain's slopes, and gives you a Cleanse Tag to protect yourself. When held by the lead Pokémon, it decreases the encounter rate of wild Pokémon by 33%.

Summit
Defeat the three Grunts guarding the path to the peak to advance. To the north, you find MaxieR/ArchieS confronting the elderly caretaker couple. He is less than thrilled to see you again, but says that you are too late to interfere this time. He steals the Blue OrbR/Red OrbS and orders his subordinates to Slateport City, and the group flees. Once they are gone, the elderly woman explains that the two orbs must never be separated, or something terrible will happen. She entrusts the remaining Red OrbR/Blue OrbS to you, and pleads with you to retrieve the stolen one.
If spoken to, the elderly man recounts an ancient legend of the Hoenn region.
It happened long, long ago... The world was wracked by a ferocious clash between the Pokémon of the sea and the Pokémon of the land... The Pokémon of the sea raised huge waves and carved out oceans... The Pokémon of the land raised mountains and created continents... Their fierce duel raged without end. The world was engulfed in massive infernos and vicious storms. The Blue Orb and the Red Orb brought an end to the calamity. Light poured from the two Orbs and becalmed the enraged adversaries. The pair, made docile, dove deep into the sea where eventually they disappeared...
The fastest way back to Slateport City is by using Fly. Otherwise, move southwestward through Routes 123 and 118, then go south from Mauville City.
Route 123
Route 123
Route 123 slopes downhill as it runs westward, from Route 122 back to Route 118. The uneven terrain makes it difficult to reach every area in one visit. The Berry Master's home, and his large garden, can be found on the west end.
Trainers with a PokéNav by their names will be registered in the Trainer's Eyes or Match Call function after the first battle, and may have a rematch with the player with higher-level Pokémon.

An elderly man known as the Berry Master lives with his wife in the house on the west side. Speak to him every day to receive two rare Berries. Possible varieties include Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa, Tamato, Cornn, Magost, Rabuta, and Nomel. The type of Berry received is determined randomly.
There are also five special phrases that each result in a rare variety of Berry. However, four of these phrases each involve an unlockable word, and cannot be used until certain requirements are met. Each phrase may only be used once this way; any further subsequent use results in a random, common variety from the previous list.
