Wormadam (Japanese: ミノマダム Minomadam) is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.
It evolves from a female Burmy starting at level 20. It is one of Burmy's final forms, the other being Mothim.
It has one of three different secondary types: Steel, Grass, or Ground, determined by its cloak. Its cloak is permanent and determined by the cloak that Burmy was in when it evolved.
- In its Plant Cloak, it is dual-type Bug/Grass.
- In its Sandy Cloak, it is dual-type Bug/Ground.
- In its Trash Cloak, it is dual-type Bug/Steel.
Biology
Wormadam is a black, bagworm-like Pokémon with a coat of plants, sand, or garbage, the last of which resembles building insulation. It has oval eyes, a long pointed beak, and a long antenna with a coiled tip. The beak is tipped with varying colors depending on the coat. The coat forms a pair of arm-like structures near this Pokémon's head. It is a female-only species, with Mothim as its male counterpart.
Forms
Wormadam has three separate forms: Plant Cloak, Sandy Cloak, and Trash Cloak.
The Plant Cloak form has several white flowers covering it and gives Wormadam a green-tipped beak and large leaves for arms. It will be dotted with reddish-brown rocks, and have chains of pebbles for arms and a brown tipped beak if it has the Sandy Cloak. When covered by the Trash Cloak, it has a pink-tipped beak and long, dark pink ribbons for arms. Wormadam that evolve on cold days are said to form thicker cloaks.
Unlike Burmy, Wormadam's cloak is a part of its body, with the fusion being suspected to have been caused by the energy generated by its evolution. Its cloak acts similar to fur and skin and never sheds. Sandy Cloak Wormadam's cloak is an effective defense, capable of repelling a Starly's pecking with ease, whereas Trash Cloak Wormadam uses its cloak as camouflage, as it helps it hide from predators.

Evolution
Wormadam evolves from female Burmy and is one of the final forms of the species, the other being Mothim. Its cloak is permanent and determined by the cloak that Burmy was in when it evolved.

Trivia
- Wormadam and its pre-evolution share their category with Pineco and Forretress. They are all known as the Bagworm Pokémon.
- Wormadam and Mothim are the only Pokémon with base stat totals of 424.
- In Pokémon Black and White, School Kid Ann on Route 12 has a Sandy Cloak Wormadam that knows Leaf Storm, a move that Sandy Cloak Wormadam cannot learn by any means; it is instead learned by Plant Cloak Wormadam. This Wormadam should instead know Fissure.
- Prior to Generation VI, Wormadam's shape was .
- Prior to Generation VII, all Wormadam forms were classified by Pokédex color sorting as gray.
- Before Generation VIII, the Burmy family had only been obtainable with their Hidden Ability in the Pokémon Dream World. Due to the closure of the Pokémon Global Link, the Burmy family could no longer be obtained with their Hidden Ability, except by trading between games and breeding. The Burmy family's Hidden Ability can currently be obtained via the Ability Patch.
- Burmy, Wormadam, Mothim, Geodude, Graveler and Golem are the only Pokémon in all five Hisui Pokédex sublistings.
Origin
Wormadam appears to be based on an adult female bagworm moth, which never develops wings and remains in its cocoon lifelong. The Trash Cloak form specifically appears to be made of fiberglass insulation, a wool-like padding that is often dyed pink. The idea of a cloak made from household materials may be inspired by household casebearer moths, whose larvae exhibit the same cloaking behaviour as bagworms, and make cloaks from dust, hair, and dirt they scavenge from homes.
Name origin
Wormadam may be a combination of bagworm and madam.
Minomadam may be a combination of 蓑虫 minomushi (bagworm) and madam.
