Growth (Japanese: せいちょう Growth) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect
Generation I
Growth increases the user's Special stat by one stage.
Generation II to Generation IV
The effects of Growth are the same as the previous generation, however, it increases user's Special Attack stat instead.
Generation V
Growth now increases Attack by one stage in addition to increasing Special Attack by one stage. In intense sunlight, Growth raises Attack and Special Attack by two stages each.

Trivia
- Despite this move being a Normal-type move, no Normal-type Pokémon can learn it, apart from a New York Pokémon Center event Eevee in Generation II and Smeargle.
- In addition, the only other Pokémon that can learn Growth that are not Grass-type are Illumise, Poliwag, and Spinarak; even then, these Pokémon only learn Growth through special New York Pokémon Center events in Generation II or breeding.
