Physiology
A Shuppet looks like a gray cloth-covered ball with a point at the tip, which is described as an upright horn. Its eyes are oval-shaped, with multiple sections of color, the outermost being a shade of light blue, the shade in the middle being a darker blue, and the one at the pointed, innermost end being yellow.
Shuppet is a spherical, levitating Pokémon that appears to be covered by a gray cloth. Black rings surround its multicolored eyes, which have light-blue sclerae, dark-blue irises, and yellow pupils. Occasionally, it will display a large, pink tongue. Extending from the top of its head is a long, pointed horn.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Shuppet has the basic abilities of a Ghost Pokémon. Unlike most Ghost-types however, Shuppet is stronger with using physical attacks than with special ones.

Behavior
The horn collects the negative emotions of people, on which this Pokémon feeds. The emotions it feeds on include anger, jealousy, resentment, and malice, so some people are grateful for its presence. This also helps Shuppet become slowly stronger. A nocturnal Pokémon, Shuppet will appear in swarms beneath the eaves of houses with negative people. As such, there exists a proverb that says, “Shun the house where Shuppet gather in the growing dusk”. It is most commonly found List of Pokémon by habitat and will retreat to the nest in which it lives when the sun rises.
Shuppet roams about at night in cities, seeking such negative emotions as grudges and envy. If someone develops strong feelings of vengeance, Shuppet will appear in a swarm and line up beneath the eaves of that person's home. It retreats to its nest when the sun begins to rise.

Habitat
Evolution
Shuppet roam about at night in cities, possibly to be in closer proximity to the humans that provide it negative emotions to feed upon.
Shuppet evolves into Banette.

Other
|name2=Banette
Shuppet was living in an abandoned mine with several other Ghost Pokémon in Fear Factory Phony. The Ghost Pokémon couldn't stand the partying Psychic Pokémon in the nearby town, so they created a Haunter-like illusion to scare them away.

Minor appearances
A Shuppet accompanied the Banette that scared off MTR in Ghoul Daze!.

Shuppet (Japanese: カゲボウズ Kagebouzu) is a Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves into Banette starting at level 37.

Biology

Shuppet absorbing negative emotions from Max

Shuppet is a spherical, levitating Pokémon that appears to be covered by a gray cloth. Black rings surround its multicolored eyes, which have light-blue sclerae, dark-blue irises, and yellow pupils. Occasionally, it will display a large, pink tongue. Extending from the top of its head is a long, pointed horn.

It is most commonly found in cities and other urban settings and will retreat to the nest in which it lives when the sun rises.

Trivia

Origin

Bulbanews
Bulbanews has an article related to this subject:

Shuppet appears to be based on a てるてる坊主 teru teru bōzu, a Japanese paper doll resembling a ghost. It also resembles a hand puppet. It also appears similar to common depictions of ghosts, specifically those that resemble floating cloths with faces.

Name origin

Shuppet may be a combination of shadow and puppet, or a contraction of shadow puppet.

Kagebouzu may be a combination of 影 kage (shadow) or 影法師 kagebōshi (silhouette) and てるてる坊主 teru teru bōzu.
