Psyduck (Japanese: コダック Koduck, German: Enton, French: Psykokwak) is a Water-type Pokémon.

Pokédex entries

Pokémon Crystal
The only time it can use its psychic power is when its sleeping brain cells happen to wake.
Pokémon Emerald
When its headache intensifies, it starts using strange powers. However, it has no recollection of its powers, so it always looks befuddled and bewildered.
Pokémon FireRed
It is constantly wracked by a headache. When the headache turns intense, it begins using mysterious powers.
Pokémon LeafGreen
While lulling its enemies with its vacant look, this wily Pokémon will use psychokinetic powers.

Name origin

Psyduck's name is possibly a combination of psychic, referring to its mental powers, and duck. Its Japanese name can be taken to mean small duck. One riddle posed in Brock's Trivia made a pun out of 子を抱っこ ko o dakko, hug a child. The French name is a corrupted combination of Psycho and quack; the sound ducks make.

Psyduck's apparent lack of feathers and ability to fly, along with its claws, suggest that its design draws inspiration from a duck as well as the duck-billed platypus.
