Pocket Monsters Stadium (Japanese: ポケモンスタジアム) is the first game of the Stadium series, and was released in Japan in 1998. This version featured only 42 Pokémon instead of all of the 151 Generation I Pokémon; not even every evolution family was included. This game was originally intended for the Nintendo 64DD format, but as the Nintendo 64DD was a commercial failure, Pokémon Stadium transferred to cartridge format. There were also plans for an expansion disk, a proposed add-on for the Nintendo 64DD, but the expansion disk was never released, and instead, a sequel with more features (known as the original Pokémon Stadium elsewhere in the world) was released with all of the Generation I Pokémon.
Pokémon
Pocket Monsters Stadium only featured 42 Pokémon available for play, meaning that 109 Pokémon, many of which were unevolved relatives to those which were, could not be seen. Below is a list of the Pokémon that were included and excluded from the game.
