Walkthrough:Pokémon XD/Part 8
Pokémon HQ Lab
Eagun sends you a message to meet him at the lab, and shows up outside to battle you and tell you that the Orre Colosseum is now open.
You can also now purify Shadow Lugia. Despite Greevil's insistence that it's "immune to purification". if you have Max Tempo in all nine Purification Chambers, placing Lugia in any empty chamber will instantly open the entire heart gauge and it can be purified. Krane and your family will congratulate you on managing to purify Lugia.
It also gains two moves that Lugia cannot usually learn, FeatherDance and Psycho Boost. Psycho Boost is typically the signature move of Deoxys. Purified Shadow Lugia is the only other Pokémon capable of learning it naturally.

Catching All Shadow Pokémon
If you have missed catching any of the previous Shadow Pokémon, you will be able to find them again thanks to the Miror Radar. This allows you to find Miror B., who will have your missing Shadow Pokémon after you have missed the first chance to snag the Pokémon, and once you have acquired the radar (which is mandatory during your playthrough). This means you are not restricted to finding Miror B. in the post-game, though it might be easier for some.
The radar will notify you like that of the Spot Monitor on your P★DA that Miror has appeared after walking around and/or battling other trainers for enough time. Miror B. will appear at either the Pyrite Colosseum, Realgam Colosseum, or one of the three Poké Spots. If found at one of the colosseums, he will randomly replace one of the Trainers from the current round, with Trudly and Folly appearing at the entrance.
Citadark Isle
The only Shadow Pokémon that can not be found by finding and battling Miror B. are Greevil's Pokémon in Dome 2F. This is due to the fact that he is one of the few trainers you can re-battle in the post-game, preventing the need to snag the Pokémon from Miror B.
If you caught some but not all of Greevil's Pokémon during his final battle, you will have to fight a team comprised of the Shadow Pokémon you have not snagged, and whatever normal Pokémon he has in place of the Pokémon you snagged previously. For example, if you snagged Shadow Moltres and Articuno, but none of the other Shadow Pokémon, then they will be replaced by Swellow and Altaria respectively.
Gateon Port
Once you've snagged 82 out of the 83 Shadow Pokémon, Miror B. will be waiting for you atop the tower with the last one, the Shadow Dragonite that he stole from Cipher Key Lair when you were busy shutting down the factory.
Once defeated, he runs for it and escapes down the elevator. He finds a small device stuck in his hair, and smashes it, the Miror Radar ceases to work after that.
Lucky Egg Quest
You can also complete a quest that rewards you with the Lucky Egg, a rare held item that boosts the amount of experience the Pokémon holding it gains from battles.
To start the quest, complete the first round of the Orre Colosseum. After defeating Lovrina, you'll receive an E-Mail from Beluh asking you to come to Agate Village.
Agate Village
When you reach Beluh and Eagun’s house, Beluh asks you to investigate a strange "affliction" affecting the Pokémon around the Village. Agree, and head left, down the hill to the home between Beluh's and the Poké Mart. Inside, you meet Senilor and his Wobbuffet.
Senilor and his son will explain that ever since it received a “Pokémon Translator,” it hasn’t spoken. Senilor explains that an old man at the Pokémon Center gave it to them. In the Center, the old man tells you he obtained the translators from Dr. Kaminko but doesn’t know where the doctor lives—fortunately, you do, so visit the Doc to learn more.
Kaminko's House
While you are here you may also wish to pick up Battle CDs 11, 23, and 29. CDs 11 and 29 can be found on the catwalks of the basement. CD 23 can be found in front of the robos.
When you speak to Dr. Kaminko, he explains that the translator is an old invention and can’t be removed without using a Voice Case. He’ll only give you one Voice Case at a time, but since the voices aren't randomized, you can use them in a set order without having to check with him what the cries are. The four are in Agate Village:
- Voice Case 1: Combusken; far left home
- Voice Case 2: Poochyena; through the path behind Beluh and Eagun’s tree home
- Voice Case 3: Taillow; by the waterfall, far top right
- Voice Case 4: Wobbuffet; between Beluh and the Poké Mart
When you give the last voice to Wobbuffet, it turns out to be ineffective. When you return to Dr. Kaminko, he simply discards it. Just then, you receive an email from Megg, the receptionist at ONBS. She tells you that her Shroomish has gone silent. In response, Dr. Kaminko gives you another Voice Case to help fix the problem.
- Voice Case 5: Shroomish, Pyrite Town, front desk on the first floor of ONBS studio
After returning from Pyrite Town, Dr. Kaminko learns that more Pokémon Translators have been used around Orre, specifically in Gateon Port and Phenac. Thanks Chobin...
You'll get yourself a Cry Analyzer since the Doc has no more Voice Cases, and will need to search out all the Pokémon that have been affected by Chobin. To cure the affected Pokémon, you will need to solve a quiz to unlock the password to their cry:
Gateon Port
| Pokémon | Location | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| Oddish | Left house, immediately after entering the port | Sun Stone |
| Magnemite | Middle of the water, directly south of the lighthouse | Magneton |
| Krabby (Left) | The Krabby Club, up the right stairs to the side of the stage | Krabilly |
| Krabby (Right) | The Krabby Club, to the right of Krabilly | Krabetty |
Phenac City
| Pokémon | Location | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| Castform | Next to the center water fountain | Weather Pokémon |
| Azumarill | Left of the water fountain, below the Pokémon Center | Marill |
| Linoone | East of the Pre Gym | No. 1 |
| Seedot | North of the Pre Gym, by the Phenac Stadium entrance | Seedot |
After helping all the affected Pokémon in Gateon and Phenac, return to Agate and use the Cry Analyzer on Wobbuffet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work, so go back to Dr. Kaminko’s lab and report the issue. He explains that the only remaining solution is for someone to mimic their Pokémon’s voice. Return to Agate Village and ask Senilor to try speaking to Wobbuffet himself. Once he does, Wobbuffet finally returns to normal, much to Senilor’s joy!
Before reporting back to Beluh, make sure to check on the Lotad near the large waterfall on the far right side of Agate Village. When you examine it, you discover that it was never affected—it’s just naturally quiet and never got a translator at all...
Finally, reporting to Beluh will net you the Lucky Egg for all of your hard work! This is one of only two ways to obtain a Lucky Egg in all of Generation III—the other being through catching a wild Chansey in FireRed and LeafGreen, where it only has a 5% chance of holding the item.
Battle CD's
If you have missed any of the Battle CD's throughout your playthrough, now is the best time to collect them all. Along with each disc rewarding you with an item upon completion, beating all 50 Battle CDs will net you 15,000 Poké Coupons. Keep in mind that some disc's can only be acquired after you beat the previous Battle CD.
