The Jacinthe League

When you return to Hotel Z, Urbain/Taunie says that we can’t avoid taking part in Jacinthe’s tournament any longer. We leave the hotel to find that we are caught in a purple battle zone. However, this isn’t any normal battle zone, it’s Jacinthe’s battle zone, and she’s tired of waiting for us at the hotel. She sends her hologram along with Lebanne and two other members of the Society of Battle Connoisseurs to battle us for our return.

You are thrown immediately into the fight against the first member who has a level 52 Mawile and Klefki. Lebanne offers to heal your team between fights. Next up we have a level 52 Dragonair and Shelgon. With these members out the way it’s Lebanne’s turn and she is far more threatening. In particular, her Garchomp is a menace as it sets up a Swords Dance and then has great coverage against almost everything in the game. Mega Dragalge is there at the end to take your team out after it’s been softened up.

Reward:
$3,456

Once you have dealt with these three you tell Lebanne that you were on your way to the tournament anyway. She then takes down the Jacinthe Zone so you can leave the hotel. This completes Main Mission 26: An Invitation from the SBC. With this your next promotion match is announced, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s against Jacinthe. This launches Main Mission 30: Reaching Rank B. Before we go to the tournament then, we’ll need to grab a ticket.

Battle it out

Our ticket this time costs 41,000 points, our largest target by far. However, if you have enough type diversity of moves on your team then you'll be able to make the most of the Bonus Cards. Point totals are increasing and if you pay attention to high value cards, getting the points needed shouldn't be too difficult.

Fighting for Jacinthe

Once we make our way back to the Hotel Richissime it's finally time to take part in Jacinthe’s tournament. The path to victory is scripted meaning every time you take on the challenge you will face the same opponents.

First up is Canari. She has the same team as before but they've gained a few levels since the last time we fought them. A similar strategy to the ones you've used previously should see her taken down. Her Heliolisk is now level 53, Ampharos and Stunfisk are level 54, and Mega Eelektross is now level 55.

You'll face Ivor next and he also has the same team that you faced in your promotional battle against him. His team is now the same levels as Canari’s and the Bulk Up Machamp is still the one to look out for. Once he's defeated it's on to the semi-finals.

Your final match is against Corbeau, and as we fought him pretty recently there haven't been huge changes to the line up. All of his Pokémon are one level higher than their counterparts on Canari’s and Ivor’s teams.

Challenger approaches

Just as you are about to start your promotional match, Zygarde bounds in with L following behind it. Zygarde wants a rematch with you, and Jacinthe is happy to wait for her turn to battle. Just before your duel begins, dozens more Zygard Cells crawl towards the main body.

L says that he has been collecting Zygarde Cells so that Zygarde can be at its full strength. This battle will be against Zygarde 50% forme and it's level 57. As a Dragon/Ground-type Pokémon it's four times weak to Ice-type attacks, but with its boosted stats it takes hits like an Alpha Pokémon, and will take a number of attacks, even super effective ones, to take it down.

Jacinthe finally fights

As you might have told by her look, Jacinthe specialises in Fairy-type Pokémon, but still has great diversity with her dual types. She has a new Mega Pokémon in Mega Clefable and this has a new type over its usual form in Fairy/Flying-type. Jacinthe’s Pokémon are also higher level than anyone else you’ve fought during the tournament with a level 57 Carbink, level 58 Mawile, Aurorus and Gardevoir, along with her level 59 Mega Clefable. Her main weakness is Steel, so make sure you have plenty of Steel-type moves on the team.

Jacinthe will give you TM020 Play Rough for winning her tournament and Main Mission 30 will come to a close. All that’s left to do is for you and Team MZ to talk about Zygarde over some croissant curry.
