Walkthrough:Pokémon Legends: Z-A/Part 22

Returning to Quasartico

[AZ] tells you about Mega Floette and how only the strongest Mega user can use it. Urbain/Taunie then gets a call from Vinnie and it starts Main Mission 31: A Summons from Vinnie.

Going wild

Before we go and see Vinnie, two more Wild Zones are now available and there are some very strong Pokémon that we can pick up.

Wild Zones 18

Wild Zone 18 has a few Mega targets with Altaria on the roof during the day, and Alpha Salamence and Lopunny on the ground level. If you missed Fennekin’s side quest you can also catch one here on the very highest roof.

Non-fixed wild alpha Pokémon always have a 5% chance to spawn as alpha unless specified otherwise, once the player has completed Main Mission 05: "The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower".

You can also find TM065 Stone Edge here though it is difficult to grab. From the rooftop with Fennekin you need to dodge roll off the edge and then Roto-glide in order to cross the gap.

Wild Zone 19

Now we've faced Jacinthe, we can pick up our own Mega Clefable by catching Clefairy in Wild Zone 19. This is also the easiest place to pick up eight Eevee for the evolutions though they are a somewhat rare spawn. This is also our first chance to pick up Kangaskhan and Drampa for two more Megas.

Talking to the CEO

When we go to Quasartico, Vinnie will lead us inside. There we see Jett, and she thanks us for helping her out the other day with the protesters. She reiterates that Quasartico Inc. is trying to help Pokémon and dreams of a world where people and Pokémon live harmoniously in Lumiose City. She claims that the Mega Energy coming from Prism Tower is the reason why Quasartico came in to help with the city. Vinnie will then email you about the appearance of three new cases of Rogue Mega Evolution.

Back at the hotel you hold a strategy meeting about this latest group of Rogue Mega Pokémon, and this launches Main Mission 32: A Rogue Mega Dragonite, Main Mission 33, A Rogue Mega Tyranitar and Main Mission 34: A Rogue Mega Starmie.

Rounding up the Rogue Megas

All of these Rogue Mega Evolutions in this section are level 58, and so can be fairly difficult to take down. As before, they can be tackled in any order.

Dealing with Dragonite

Dragonite is one of the new Mega Pokémon, and it keeps its Dragon/Flying-type when it Mega Evolves. It has a charged attack where you need to attack into it in order to prevent it from pulling its large attack off. Once charged, Dragonite will leave the area and blow up the arena with a Hyper Beam. If this happens you should recall your Pokémon and run around the edge of the arena yourself to dodge damage.

There are a few strong counters for Mega Dragonite. Players who picked Chikorita can use Mega Meganium, though they need to be careful of the Flying-type attacks. Mega Feraligatr can also work, but again needs to be careful of the Dragon-type attacks. Emboar players can use Mega Froslass from the last batch of Rogue Mega Evolutions. Once you defeat Mega Dragonite, you will be rewarded with the Dragoninite and Main Mission 32 will end.

Taming Tyranitar

Like Dragonite, Mega Tyranitar comes with a delicious four times weakness, this time to Fighting-type moves. However, Tyranitar has a number of difficult attacks to dodge, including covering the floor in a large amount of quicksand, which deals consistent damage, and surrounding itself with Sandstorm so that those who come close to Tyranitar to attack cannot avoid taking damage.

Scraftinite has just been added to Quasartico Inc., and Mega Scrafty is the perfect counter to Mega Tyranitar. Meganium players can also deal meaningful damage with both of its types, and Feraligatr can be strong. Once Tyranitar has been taken down, you will be rewarded with Tyranitarite and it will put an end to Main Mission 33.

Soothing Starmie

Before we take on this Rogue Mega we have a run in with the Rust Syndicate. A grunt is guarding the area, but lets us and Lida in when they recognize us. Philippe is watching over the Starmie as the Rust Syndicate are trying to prevent civilians from wandering into the area. Philippe wants to test you before you take on the Starmie. He has leveled up from the last time you fought, and he also has an Aggron on his team. The Mega Skarmory is still his biggest threat and you will need to be careful when fighting it.

Once Philippe has been defeated you are ready to take on Mega Starmie. Starmie uses huge Water-type attacks and quickly moves around the area. You will need a Pokémon with wide area of effect attacks, or ranged attacks. Mega Ampharos makes a good counter, and Absol also works thanks to Starmie’s Psychic-typing. With Starmie defeated, you’ll have completed Main Mission 34: A Rogue Mega Starmie.
