LEGO Pokémon, also known as the LEGO & Pokémon Partnership, is a collaboration between Danish company The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International. It has been described as a "multi-year partnership" beginning in 2026. The collaboration consists of marketing events and the release of Pokémon-themed LEGO construction toys.
LEGO Pokémon is a sub-theme of LEGO Gaming. Pokémon is the fourth Nintendo franchise to receive a theme under LEGO Gaming, following Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.
LEGO Pokémon sets come in two different recommended age ranges, 6-10+ and 18+. The 18+ sets are grouped with LEGO's "Adults Welcome" line of products. The 6-10+ sets are grouped under LEGO's SMART Play sets, utilizing the LEGO SMART Brick.
History
The collaboration was announced on March 19, 2025 with a teaser released alongside the announcement.[1][2]
The first LEGO Pokémon sets were officially revealed on January 12, 2026.[3][4] Preorders opened the same day for a release date of February 27, 2026—Pokémon Day and the Pokémon 30th Anniversary. Three sets featuring models of Eevee, Pikachu, and the fully-evolved forms of the Kanto first partner Pokémon were made available for retail purchase at LEGO stores and Pokémon Center stores. Two additional sets featuring the badges of the Kanto region and a miniature Pokémon Center were made available as a gift with purchase and LEGO Insiders program reward, respectively.[4][5]
From January 12 to February 27, 2026, a scavenger hunt was held across LEGO and Pokémon digital media, including Pokémon.com, official Pokémon social media, and sponsored YouTube videos.[3][4][6] Codes from the scavenger hunt could be redeemed through the LEGO Insiders program to enter a sweepstakes to win LEGO Insiders loyalty points, LEGO Pokémon sets, and tickets to PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships.
A prebuilt display piece of Pikachu's tail appearing out from tall grass was sent exclusively to select social media influencers in early March 2026.[7][8]
LEGO's user-submitted suggestion program, LEGO Ideas, accepted entries for a Pokémon Trading Card Game themed design challenge from March 31 to May 6, 2026.[9] The winning design will be turned into an official retail LEGO set.
On June 2, 2026, a new wave of LEGO Pokémon SMART Play sets were announced.[10][11] These sets featured smaller-scaled models of various Pokémon. These sets also came in two varieties: LEGO SMART Play All-in-One sets, which include at least one LEGO SMART Brick, SMART Charger and LEGO SMART Tags, whilst LEGO SMART Play Compatible sets including at least one or more SMART Tags, but no included LEGO SMART Brick. An additional set featuring Ditto was made available as a gift with purchase after spending $130 or more on preorder products from the LEGO Pokémon category at the online Pokémon Center.[10]

LEGO Ideas Pokémon Trading Card Game Challenge
The Pokémon Trading Card Game Challenge hosted by LEGO Ideas was announced on March 31, 2026.[9] Until May 6, 2026, builders could submit fan-made brick-built Full Art cards featuring one from a list of Pokémon, in the vein of illustration contests held for the TCG.[12] The winning submission will be turned into an official retail LEGO set. Rules for the build were as follows:[12]
- The build must feature exactly one Pokémon from the list of approved subjects
- The design must be original and not based on a preexisting card.
- The card frame must be 37 studs × 26 studs.
- The subject's face must be in the upper half.
- The total pieces used must be between 400 and 2500.
- Minifigures may not be used.
The following Pokémon were allowed for submission:
Following the submission period, all 756 entrants were made available for public viewing on the LEGO Ideas website.[13] A Review Board selected 5 finalists to participate in a Fan Vote, which were published on May 28, 2026.[14] LEGO Ideas users are able to cast 1 vote for their favorite build from May 28 to June 11, 2026. The Fan Vote does not determine the final winner; it is solely to gauge interest and sway the Review Board to a final decision. The Review Board will announce the winning design no later than February 4, 2027.
All entrants selected for the Fan Vote will win copies of 5 LEGO sets, including 72151 Eevee and 72152 Pikachu and Poké Ball. The winner will receive 1% of the total net sales of the final set, 10 copies of the final set, and credit and a biography in the final set's manual.

Trivia
- In the assembly instructions for Eevee's head, one step involves placing 8 colored panels that represent its evolutions: orange for Flareon, dark blue for Vaporeon, yellow for Jolteon, pink for Sylveon, lavender for Espeon, black for Umbreon, light green for Leafeon, and light blue for Glaceon. These panels are placed beneath the face, and are no longer visible once the head is closed up. This is referenced in the instruction book's introduction, which states that "This Eevee does not evolve, but you'll find as you build it, Eevee has evolutionary potential."
