Izabe Island (Japanese: イザベ島 Izabe Island) is an anime-exclusive location in the Hoenn region. It is a large island situated between Mossdeep City and Sootopolis City. It contains a wide variety of environments, from deserted areas to snow-covered mountains. Its highest peak is known as the Square Top, a cube-shaped rock formation on a mountain. Ash and his friends traveled across the island from A Cacturne for the Worse to Do I Hear a Ralts?.
In the anime
The annual Purika City Contest took place in A Cacturne for the Worse. where May met her new rival Harley. Despite Harley's underhanded tactics during the final round, May won her fourth Ribbon.
Sigourney is the current sage of Izabe Island. In Claydol Big and Tall, he explained "The Great Destruction", a catastrophic event caused by a giant Claydol that threatened the island over a thousand years ago. Claydol remains sealed inside a stone Poké Ball to avoid another catastrophic event.
While on Izabe Island, Brock's Lombre evolved into a Ludicolo, Ash caught a Snorunt, and Max befriended a Ralts that he promised to start his journey with.
