Vincent/Jackson (Japanese: ジュンイチ Jun'ichi, Junichi is also seen) is the third protagonist of The Legend of Thunder!. His English name when he is seen in the Silver Conference is Jackson; his English name in The Legend of Thunder!, however, is Vincent. His starter Pokémon was Chikorita, received from Professor Elm of New Bark Town, at the same time as Jimmy and Marina. His Japanese voice actor is 阪口大助 Daisuke Sakaguchi and his Brazilian Portuguese voice actors are Francisco Freitas (in the Johto league) and Yuri Chesman (in The Legend of Thunder).

He has a crush on Marina. Knowing Marina admires Lance, Vincent likes to dress in a cape to imitate him. He has also used different personas in a bid to impress her. While it is disputed whether Jackson was one, he calls himself Fabu-Vinny in The Legend of Thunder!, as Marina calls Lance Fabu-Lance. Vincent sees Jimmy as a rival for Marina's attraction, which is not unfounded as QuestShipping is near-canon.

As Jackson, he battled Ash Ketchum in the Silver Conference in the final battle of the Prelimaries. The match ended in a draw but Ash proceeded to the next round on points as Jackson had lost his previous match.

Trivia

  • Vincent's English name actually comes directly from Pokémon Gold and Silver. There is a minor trainer named "Junichi" in the Japanese version who is named "Vincent" in the localization - a Guitarist in the Vermilion Gym with three Magnemite and a Voltorb. The dubbers apparently mistook this character for an unrelated anime character. The same thing happened to Jimmy.
  • He is named after Junichi Masuda, composer for the video games.
  • In the Israeli dub of the Legend of Thunder special, Vincent was named Jackson, just like he called in his appearance in the original series.
