Welcome to my userpage! I'm Nick. Nice to meet you!

My Poké-past

My earliest memory of Pokémon is the Anime. The first Pokémon I ever remember seeing is Poliwhirl. I'm not sure what season I saw, but it was most likely Johto, because I remember Misty and Brock, but it was quite a while since it started. I eventually got Pokémon themed bed sheets and that's really as far as my love for the series went until I got one of the games. My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Sapphire, where my first Pokémon was Mudkip. I got it when I was 9-11 years old (Diamond and Pearl were out at this point.). I think that my mom gave it to me the same time as I got Metroid: Fusion, but that's all my memory will tell me. I really didn't enjoy the Pokémon games at first and didn't play very much, but I did get 6-7 badges. I eventually went to a summer camp where I met two boys who had Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It reminded me of Sapphire, so I brought my GBA and Sapphire and, while I couldn't do much multiplayer-wise, I got along well with one of them (The other wasn't very nice). I didn't really express too much interest in Pokémon, though, and I eventually traded my copy of Sapphire for a copy of Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Which was a choice I regretted soon after. After around a year passed I eventually got a DSi and asked for Pokémon HeartGold for Christmas. When I got it, I ran through and it became the first Pokémon game that I finished. I was really surprised though when I loaded the save file again and saw I was able to go to Kanto. The only things I didn't do was complete the Pokédex or defeat Red. A year or so passed, and I heard about Pokémon Black and White, which were recently released! I rushed to my local GameStop and purchased a copy and I really enjoyed it! I even got it in time to get an event Victini, which was my second event Pokémon (I got a Celebi in HeartGold). I swept through the game and got to the Elite Four. I beat two of them late at night, then I saved and decide to go to bed. For whatever reason, I took the cartridge out of my DSi and laid it out on the bed. When I woke up I found all of my game carts on the floor and one of them was chewed up by the dog, who got in the room while I was asleep. That cartridge was Pokémon White Version... This is when I started to fall out from playing Pokémon again. I stopped playing HeartGold and Yellow (Which I got sometime I don't remember). I didn't even care when I heard about Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. Middle school was also starting and I had more homework than in Elementary school and I had less time to play anything. Somewhere in this point I got a 3DS, however. Then came 8th grade. The last year of Middle school and there was a new kid at school. I won't say his name, but I met him when he saw me playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on my 3DS at school one day. He mentioned that he had the original N64 version still and I thought that was really cool. A lot of out time together was devoted to talking about Zelda games, which we were both fans of. Sometimes we talked about Mario and Donkey Kong and other Nintendo games, and one day I brought up Pokémon, telling him about the story of my lost copy of White and traded copy of Sapphire and that I haven't played in around a year or so. He said something about that the Pokémon games just reinvent themselves too much and he's not really a fan. I was a little disappointed, because my mind was wanting to go back to Pokémon. After a while I started to bring HeartGold with me, rather than Ocarina of Time and kind of got my friend back into Pokémon a little bit. Then summer hit and over the summer the announcement for Pokémon X and Y came out and I was really exited, the same way I was exited for Black and White. I talked to my friend over Skype about it and to my surprise, he was really exited too. High School hit and I was really nervous etc. (This isn't the story of my life) but my friend was really, REALLY exited about it and we both got into Pokémon YouTubers like TheJWittz and NateWantsToBattle and others. When October 12th hit and X and Y hit the stores, I wanted to buy it so bad, but money was tight and I couldn't buy it.. With my mom that is. My grandma, as a reward for finishing the first quarter of Freshman year with A's and B's, bought me X on October 15th. I was one of the first people at school to get X or Y. Another thing that happened on October 15th was I lost my copy of HeartGold. I found it once, then it went missing again. A couple of months pass and my 3DS starts acting really, REALLY bad and my screen isn't working right, but I got a 3DS XL for my birthday. A few weeks pass and I hear about the Club Nintendo offer If you buy a 3DS and a select game, you can get a free copy of X or Y. I just bought a 3DS and that was all set, and I already had Mario Kart 7, which I was sure I hadn't registered yet. Turns out I did and I thought I was gonna miss out, but then I took the survey for MK7 and the trigger for the free download appeared so I got Y (Being the first time I've ever owned two copies of a game from the same generation). Another week and my friend gets a copy of Y and he finished in two days. now he's working to build a competitive team, while I'm just doing aftergame and collecting all the mega stones. And here comes to today. I'm 15 now and I've been a fan for around 6 years now and I'm not ready to stop! I'm really exited to see Diancie and other events and I'm keeping up on the XY anime as it comes out. I recently bought Pokémon White again and Pokémon Sapphire again, but I'm not as exited to play those as I was for X, but I think that's because I already know the region and I wanna get back to where I was really bad. Thanks for reading this really long story if you made it this far! (Without skipping, of course!) Enjoyn the rest of my page! --Nick

My Shiny Pokémon

My first shiny that I ever encountered (to my memory) is Gyarados in Pokémon HeartGold at the Lake of Rage (Yes, the guaranteed shiny). My first real shiny was a Basculin (red-striped form) in Pokémon X. My other two shinies were gifts from my friends. Those are Umbreon (OT: Wendell ID: 34890 Origin: Unova) and Gardevoir (OT: Smogon ID: 00109 Origin: Johto)

Trivia

  • The Pokémon game I've had in my possession the longest is Pokémon HeartGold, Since January 1st, 2011.
  • Like many people, I could have encountered a shiny before I knew what they were and didn't catch it.
