The Sealed Ruin (Japanese: ふういんのいわば Sealed Rocky Stretch) is a future dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. It is unlocked after beating Dark Hill. It consists of 15 floors with a relay point between floor 8 and floor 1 of Deep Sealed Ruin, after that the boss Spiritomb is fought. Since this dungeon is located in the future, it cannot be revisited outside of a friend rescue and no Pokémon can be recruited inside of this dungeon.
Gameplay
The floors are ranked E, S and ★1, for purpose of Treasure Boxes and friend rescues (including Deep Sealed Ruin).
There's three floor types:
- Small (floors 1 and 5 of both Sealed Ruin and Deep Sealed Ruin) with 2-6 rooms
- Large vertical room with 3 rooms on each side (floor 6 of Sealed Ruin)
- Medium (other floors); usually generating 3 to 9 rooms with varying bias towards larger amount of rooms. Exception are floors 3 to 5 of Deep Sealed Ruin, where the game will generate up to 8, 6 and 8, respectively, rooms.
There's 2-3 starting enemies on first five floors of Sealed Ruin, then 2-4 on later floors. There's 1-4 items on first four floors of Sealed Ruin, then 2-5 on later ones.
The IQ Booster activates on every even floor (counting Deep Sealed Ruin as continuation of Sealed Ruin). The turn limit is 1000. The player cannot be rescued if knocked out in Deep Sealed Ruin. The enemies in this dungeon have 26IQ, granting them Status Checker IQ skill. There is water on floors 3, 5 and 7 of Sealed Ruin, and 3 and 4 of Deep Sealed Ruin.
