Expanding Force (Japanese: ワイドフォース Wide Force) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation VIII. In Generation IX, it is one of the signature moves of Armarouge.

Effect

Expanding Force inflicts damage. It normally targets a single Pokémon.

If Psychic Terrain is in effect and the user is grounded upon its execution, this move gets a 1.5× power increase (in addition to the usual 1.3× bonus from terrain) and it becomes a move that targets both opponents.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Expanding Force cannot be selected in a battle.

Mr. Rime Mr. Rime's belly face glows purple. A wave of purple energy then expands outwards from its belly, and a column of purple energy with yellow and blue sparks strikes the opponent from below. If used while Psychic Terrain is active, the attack's power is increased. Mr. Rime can also release the wave of energy from the tip of its ice cane instead.
