Manning (Japanese: マルフジ Marufuji) is a minor recurring character of the Pokémon anime. He first appeared in Jostling for the Junior Cup! where he participated in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. His first opponent was Kenton whom he defeated and advanced to the next round of the tournament. He appeared again in Battling Authority Once Again!, where he battled Trip in the second round and lost. He made a cameo appearance in Goodbye, Junior Cup - Hello Adventure!, where he lined up with all the other competitors in front of Alder, Cynthia, Caitlin and Freddy O'Martian.
He reappeared in BW103 to compete in the Higaki Conference. In BW104 he appeared on the screen showing the match-ups for the second round of the Conference, meaning he had made it through the first round. In BW105 he appeared once again on the screen of the Higaki Conference, now showing the match-ups for the last sixteen, meaning he had made it through the second and third rounds. In BW106, he lost to Imotarō, knocking him out of the Higaki Conference.

Heatmor was the first Pokémon that Manning used in the Junior Cup. It was able to defeat Kenton's Golett and advance its Trainer to the second round. It was sent out again in the second round, but quickly lost to Trip's Serperior.
Heatmor's only known move is Flamethrower.

Jellicent was used in the fourth round of the Higaki Conference to battle against Imotarō's Eelektross. She lost, however, and her Trainer was eliminated from the tournament.
None of Jellicent's moves are known.
Manning has at least one other Pokémon, as he participated in the third round of the Higaki Conference which requires a Single Battle involving three Pokémon.
