Constrict (Japanese: からみつく Coil Around) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Constrict inflicts damage and has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Speed stat by one stat level.
Constrict will not be able to lower the target's Speed stat if it has reached a stat level of -6, a value of 1, or if the target has a Substitute.

Trivia

- Constrict has the lowest base power out of all damage-dealing moves.
- This move shares its Japanese translation with another move, Coil.
- This move was voted the Worst Move Ever by GameFAQs users on the Pokémon Black message boards in this topic.
