Location Location of Agate Village in Orre.
|
Agate Village (Japanese: アゲトビレッジ Aget Village) is a small, lush, forest village located in north-central Orre. A large river runs past the town, accounting for its abundance of flora in an area that is primarily desert. The terrain in the village is also fairly mountainous as it is located near the westernmost edge of Mt. Battle.
Agate Village is primarily a retirement destination for elderly Pokémon Trainers. Most of the citizens are senior Trainers who have retired from professional training; however, most keep their Pokémon with them in old age, living out the winter of their lives with their treasured companions.
Many young Trainers visit Agate, either because they have relatives there or because they seek the wisdom of their elders. Few youngsters actually live in Agate.
Agate's Poké Mart is the only one in Orre that sells Scents used to massage Pokémon.
Places of interest
Discounting visitors, Agate Village has a population of 19 in Colosseum.
Berry Master
On the northeasternmost ledge in Agate, there is an old man who hands out Berries that his Taillow picks—akin to a Berry Master in other regions. The type of Berry he gives out is randomly selected from the first fifteen Berries obtainable in the Hoenn region.
Eagun's house
Eagun's house is built within a large tree in north-central Agate. In his youth, Eagun was with little doubt the greatest Trainer of his day. Eagun lives with his wife, and still spends time with his first Pokémon, a Pikachu.
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, a Lucky Egg can be obtained here after defeating Greevil, clearing round one of the Orre Colosseum, and completing a side quest involving Dr. Kaminko's faulty Pokémon Translators.
Move Tutor
Orre's lone Move Tutor is located in a cave on the west side of Agate Village in Pokémon XD only. Each move can only be taught once.
General tutored moves
Name Rater
- Main article: Name Rater
The Name Rater is also located in Agate Village. He will rename all Pokémon, except for Shadow Pokémon.
Pokémon Day Care
- Main article: Pokémon Day Care
Orre's only Pokémon Day Care is located in northeast Agate. The Day Care has room for only one Pokémon, making breeding impossible. The Day Care is also home to Orre's only Name Rater. In Colosseum, the Day Care can assist in purifying Shadow Pokémon, but not in Pokémon XD.
Relic Forest
The Relic Forest (Japanese: 聖なる森 Sacred Forest) is a dense forest located beneath the northern portion of Agate Village. It is accessed from the village by way of the Relic Cave. In the center of the forest is a shrine dedicated to Celebi. The shrine's centerpiece is the Relic Stone, a monument that contains the power to open the hearts of Shadow Pokémon. If a Time Flute is used at the stone, Celebi will appear to fully purify and unlock the heart of a single Pokémon.
The Relic Forest is similar to Johto's Ilex Forest in that both forests contain a structure where Celebi can appear if a specific item is used.

Trivia
- A remixed version of the Relic Forest theme is played in Pokémon Battle Revolution during the player's name entry.
- In XD, although Matron Belish evolves her Poochyena into Mightyena in the second rematch against her, this is not reflected outside of battle, as she is still shown with Poochyena in the overworld.
