Thousand Waves (Japanese: サウザンウェーブ Thousand Wave) is a damage-dealing Ground-type move introduced in Generation VI. It was not legitimately available until Generation VII. It is one of the signature moves of Zygarde.

Effect

Thousand Waves inflicts damage and prevents the target from fleeing or switching out as long as the user remains in battle. Ghost-type Pokémon cannot be trapped by this move.

If a Pokémon with Sheer Force uses Thousand Waves (via Mimic, or switching Abilities), it will not gain a damage bonus or have its secondary effect removed.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Sword and Shield
