Route 116 is an east-west route in western Hoenn.
Route description
Route 116 is host to several trainers and, most notably, the headquarters of the drilling team in charge of Rusturf Tunnel's development. There are three large patches of grass on the route, containing wild Pokémon at low levels. This route is, also, the first area where trainers will encounter wild Whismur. In addition, it is one of three places at which trainers can catch wild Taillow, native to Hoenn.

Trivia
- Route 116 is the only location in Hoenn in which Skitty and Nincada are obtainable in the wild.
- School Kid Jerry notably owns a Ralts and later obtains a Banette. In the anime, Max is based on the School Kid Trainer class and befriends a Ralts and a Shuppet, the pre-evolved form of Banette.
