Snow Warning (Japanese: ゆきふらし Snowfall) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV. Prior to Generation VI, it was the signature Ability of Snover and Abomasnow.
Effect
In battle
Generations IV and V
Snow Warning summons a hailstorm in battle as soon as a Pokémon with Snow Warning enters the battle. Its effects are the same as Hail, but instead of lasting for five turns, it lasts for the whole battle until replaced. If a Pokémon with Snow Warning is sent out in the same turn as another Pokémon whose Ability affects the weather, the slower Pokémon's Ability will override the faster Ability.
Generation VI to VIII
The hail will last only for five turns. This can be extended to eight turns if the Pokémon is holding an Icy Rock.
If heavy rain, extremely harsh sunlight, or strong winds are present, Snow Warning will fail to activate.
Generation IX
Snow Warning now summons a snowstorm instead of hail.
Outside of battle
Snow Warning has no effect outside of battle.

In other games
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
In Explorers of Time, Darkness, Snow Warning changes the weather to Hail upon entering a floor, and then every subsequent 36 turns.
In Super Mystery Dungeon, Snow Warning changes the weather to hail upon entering a floor. Hail lasts a certain number of turns (in multiples of 66) before clearing. After the weather has cleared, Snow Warning will again activate after waiting a certain number of turns (in multiples of 66).
Pokémon UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Snow Warning is Alolan Ninetales's Ability. It causes snow to fall on an enemy, dealing damage to it and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. Boosted attacks and moves (except Aurora Veil) sling snow, and hitting the same target with snow multiple times will freeze it for 1s. This Ability has an 8s cooldown.
