Dialga (Japanese: ディアルガ Dialga) is a Steel/Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon.
Dialga is the version mascot of Pokémon Diamond, appearing on the boxart.
Biology
Dialga (ディアルガ, Diaruga?) is described as an ancient deity of the Sinnoh region with the ability to control time. According to Sinnoh-region mythology, it was created by Arceus, at which point time began to flow. It has a long neck, tail and thick set legs with sharp, metal-like claws. It has many silver protrusions resembling spikes along the back of its neck, on its head, on its top rear, and on its chest. Lodged into the chest protrusions is a glowing blue, diamond-like jewel. Running along its body are light blue lines that fluctuate into diamond shapes. In Pokémon Battle Revolution, it can be seen that Dialga's underbelly is reflective like a mirror.
Dialga is only obtainable in Diamond, in the same way that Palkia is only obtainable in Pearl. It is summoned by the defeated leader of Team Galactic, Cyrus, who hopes to have it create a new universe for him, at the Spear Pillar on top of Mt. Coronet. It is stopped by Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, which nullifiy its power, and can be captured or defeated by the player. It has a signature move called Roar of Time, which is a Dragon type version of Hyper Beam.
Dialga, along with Palkia and Darkrai is set to appear in Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai, the tenth Pokémon movie. It is also known that Dialga, as well as Palkia, will be shown in the episode of the anime currently Japanese titled as "The Sinnoh Space-Time Legend!".
Physiology
Dialga is somewhat dinosaur-like. It is mainly black/dark blue with some gray metallic portions, such as its chestplate, which has a diamond in the center. It also has various blue spots. It has a somewhat wing-like structure on its back, and a crest on its head, resembling a type of dinosaur. Dialga also has long claws and a short tail.
Gender differences
Dialga is a genderless species.
Special abilities
Dialga has the ability to warp time.

Trivia
- Dialga's US name, although many had already guessed it, was officialy revealed on January 20th 2006, along with Palkia's name.
- Dialga is one of two spacetime Pokémon created by Arceus. The other is Palkia.
- Despite being the creator of time, Dialga has the same catch rate as Chatot.
Origin
Dialga is based after a dragon with a diamond.
Name origin
The Dia in its name is derived from the word diamond, even though the Japanese word for diamond is ダイヤモンド daiyamondo. The "ga" part in its name may be a corruption of "gon", referring to its origin and type.
