If you were looking for the stat in the Pokéathlon, see Performance → Skill.
If you were looking for the ability Brute Force or Power of Five in Pokémon Battle Trozei, see $1.

Skills (Japanese: 能力 Skill) are a characteristic each Pokémon have in the game Pokémon Shuffle that are similar to Abilities in the core series games. Every species of Pokémon has one Skill. When a Pokémon Mega Evolves, its regular Skill no longer activates as its Mega Effect activates instead. Skills have a chance of activating on the first match made by the player in a turn.

Damage calculation

Damage for each match is equal to the attack power as shown in the Pokémon List for the given level of the Pokémon modified by the following factors.

  • Status conditions: depends on which status has been afflicted on the opposing Pokémon
    • Burn: damage x1.5 for attacking Fire types
    • Fear: damage x1.5 for attacking Ghost types
    • Frozen: damage x1.2 for attacking Ice types
    • Asleep: damage x1.2 for any attacking Pokémon
  • Combo:
    • 1: x1
    • 2-4: x1.1
    • 5-9: x1.15
    • 10-24: x1.2
    • 25-49: x1.3
    • 50-74: x1.4
    • 75-99: x1.5
    • 100-199: x2
    • 200+: x2.5
  • Length of match:
    • 1: x0.3
    • 2: x0.6
    • 3: x1
    • 4: x1.5
    • 5: x2
    • 6: x3
  • Skills:
    • Most Skills impact damage calculations. Damage multipliers for Skills are in the table below.

List of Skills

The following list of Skills is sorted in the order used in the Search function of the Pokémon List. The Chance column shows the chance of the Skill activating when three, four, or five icons are matched, respectively.

Mega Effects

Disruptions can be erased if they are in a tile targeted by the effect. Each Pokémon or disruption erased boosts the amount of damage dealt to the opponent, but empty tiles do not count. The Pokémon that make the match that triggers the Mega Effects are also erased before they can combo, but do not boost the amount of damage done beyond a non-Mega match. A Mega-Match and its resulting effect can take priority over other matches; to prevent this, the non-Mega match must trigger first by moving the icon to complete that match so the Mega match does not disrupt it.
