Physiology
Happiny is a small Pokémon that is shaped like an egg. A Happiny has a soft, smooth light pink body. At the top of her head is a curly pigtail-like outgrowth that looks like hair, but has the same color and texture as her body. She has three round bumps on her forehead. Unlike her evolved forms, whose pouches are small and on their stomachs, her pouch surrounds the lower half of her body. In fact, it is the lower half of her body. The pouch resembles a diaper. It is red with a white stripe around its top. The pouch is rubbery and flexible, enabling the Happiny to put things into it with ease. Happiny are still babies and they cannot produce eggs yet. To make up for this, a Happiny will carry a white egg-shaped stone in her pouch to imitate Chansey and Blissey. However, if a Happiny carries an Evolution-inducing held item, she will be capable of evolving and then will be able to lay eggs of her own.
Happiny is a small Pokémon that is shaped like an egg. It has a soft, smooth, light pink body. On top of its head is a curly outgrowth that resembles a ponytail, with a dark pink band around the base. The appearance of this curly growth of hair often annoys Happiny. It has three round bumps on its forehead and two pink circles on its cheeks. There is a pouch around the lower half of its body. The pouch is red with a white stripe around the top.
Gender differences
Happiny is a female-only species with no male counterpart.

Special abilities
Happiny's pouch is rubbery and flexible, enabling the Happiny to put things into it with ease. As it cannot produce Eggs yet, it makes up for it by carrying something round and white in its pouch to imitate Chansey and Blissey, typically an Egg-shaped stone. Happiny highly treasures this stone. It may give this stone to people whom it likes, however, it can throw a tantrum and cry should the stone be taken from it or not returned to it. The object it decides to carry may be too large, stopping this Pokémon from moving. It has a habit of wandering around people's feet and causing them to stumble. Happiny enjoys playing with children, often playing a game of House with them. Happiny is shown to be extremely strong in the anime, as Brock has been seen lifting heavy things above its head. Happiny is a female-only species with no male counterpart.
In the anime, Happiny are shown to be extremely strong. Brock has been seen lifting very heavy things above her head. Additionally, Happiny's field move in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Crush, may also link to this.

Behavior
Happiny and its evolved forms are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Soft-Boiled by leveling up.
Happiny has a fascination for anything white and round. As such, she has the aforementioned habit of carrying a smooth white stone in her pouch to imitate her evolved forms. She may cry if she doesn't have a stone to hold. This usually occurs after birth, because all Happiny are born without stones in their pouches. Happiny are also bothered by their curly hair.

Habitat
Evolution
Diet
Happiny evolves into Chansey, which evolves into Blissey.

Brock's Happiny
|pictype=art
Brock's egg hatched into a Brock in One Big Happiny Family!. Unusually, in contrast to Happiny's extremely low Attack stat in the games, it has amazing strength and can run with, pummel, and carry many heavy items and Pokémon for its size, such as having the ability to fling her trainer into the air with ease and carrying Ash's Grotle around in Jumping Rocket Ship!. It evolved into a Chansey in The Brockster Is In!.

In Scarlet and Violet, the Luck Incense is not present and is no longer required to obtain Happiny through breeding; Happiny will always be produced when breeding Chansey or Blissey, regardless of held items.

Trivia
Trivia
* If the Oval Stone is counted as an evolutionary stone, then Happiny is the only Pokémon that evolves with a stone that can evolve further.
* Happiny is the only Pokémon that evolves twice by leveling up under certain conditions, once by holding an item, and again with high friendship.
* Happiny, along with Chansey, has the lowest base stat for both Attack and Defense in the games.
* Happiny is tied with Chansey for the lowest base Attack and Defense stats of all Pokémon.
* Happiny is the fifth Pokémon to like round things; the first four being Meowth, Quagsire, Spoink, and Sealeo.
* Happiny has the lowest base Special Attack stat of all Normal Pokémon.
* Happiny, and her evolution family, Chansey and Blissey, have the most in-game items associated with them (with the exception of Arceus). These include: Stat-enhancing item, Experience-affecting item, Incense, and the Oval Stone.
* Happiny was designed by Emi Yoshida.
* Happiny and the other members of her evolution family share the same abilities as both forms of Shaymin.
* All moves Happiny can learn by leveling up in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are moves it could not legally learn before by any means. The only other Pokémon with this distinction is Burmy, which only learns Struggle Bug by level-up in Legends: Arceus.
* Happiny bears a resemblance to a hoax Pokémon that was created on April Fool's Day 2005.

Origin
Origin
Happiny shares a few characteristics with infants, such as her soft skin and diaper-like pouch.
Happiny shares some characteristics with infants, such as its soft skin, ponytail and diaper-like pouch. It also resembles an egg cup. The way it pretends to be adult version of itself and acts like a nurse reminds of little girls playing with dolls.

Happiny (Japanese: ピンプク Pinpuku) is a Normal-type baby Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.

It evolves into Chansey when leveled up while holding an Oval Stone during the day, which evolves into Blissey when leveled up with high friendship.

(Specifics may differ in past games. Refer to Game data→Evolution data for these details.)

Biology

Happiny without a stone in her pouch

Happiny is a small Pokémon that is shaped like an egg. It has a soft, smooth, light pink body. On top of its head is a curly outgrowth that resembles a ponytail, with a dark pink band around the base. The appearance of this curly growth of hair often annoys Happiny. It has three round bumps on its forehead and two pink circles on its cheeks. There is a pouch around the lower half of its body. The pouch is red with a white stripe around the top.

Happiny is shown to be extremely strong in the anime, as one has been seen lifting heavy things above its head. Happiny is a female-only species with no male counterpart.

Happiny and its evolved forms are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Soft-Boiled by leveling up.

Evolution

Happiny evolves into Chansey, which evolves into Blissey.

Evolution data

Happiny evolves into Chansey when leveled up while holding an Oval Stone during the day, which evolves into Blissey when leveled up with high friendship. Chansey cannot evolve into Blissey in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen before the player obtains the National Pokédex, as the evolution will be interrupted. Chansey also cannot evolve into Blissey in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, as Blissey is not present in those games. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Happiny evolves into Chansey when exposed to an Oval Stone during the day. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Luck Incense is not present and is no longer required to obtain Happiny through breeding; Happiny will always be produced when breeding Chansey or Blissey, regardless of held items.

Trivia

 • Happiny is the only Pokémon that evolves twice by leveling up under certain conditions, once by holding an item, and again with high friendship.
 • Happiny is tied with Chansey for the lowest base Attack and Defense stats of all Pokémon.
 • Happiny has the lowest base Special Attack stat of all Normal-type Pokémon.
 • Happiny was designed by Emi Yoshida.[1]
 • All moves Happiny can learn by leveling up in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are moves it could not legally learn before by any means. The only other Pokémon with this distinction is Burmy, which only learns Struggle Bug by level-up in Legends: Arceus.

Origin

Happiny shares some characteristics with infants, such as its soft skin, ponytail and diaper-like pouch. It also resembles an egg cup. The way it pretends to be adult version of itself and acts like a nurse reminds of little girls playing with dolls.

Name origin

Happiny may be a combination of happiness and tiny or teeny. It may also involve happenstance.

Pinpuku may be a combination of ピンク pinku (pink) and 福 fuku (good fortune).
