Special Moves

In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Growlithe knows Shadow Blitz and Shadow Wave as a Shadow Pokémon, and learns Charm after being purified.

In the anime

Growlithe first appeared in EP033. This Puppy Pokémon showed up when Ash was making an attempt to attack a herd of Tauros while at a Pokémon Ranch.

James had a pet Growlithe named Growlie when he was a child. He left it behind when he ran away from home at a young age.

Growlithe and its evolved form have also been used as police dogs by Officer Jenny.

Morrison introduced his Growlithe to Ash and co. in AG126.

In AG139, Drew and May discovered that an Arcanine that they were trying to catch had a litter of Growlithe to take care of. Because of this, they decided to leave the Arcanine alone.
