Trivia
- No other Pokémon have the same type combination as Toxtricity and its pre-evolved form.
- Toxtricity is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 502.
Origin
Visually, Toxtricity resembles lizards, especially the ones from the Agama genus, like the Mwanza flat-headed rock agama and the Namib rock agama. Like Toxtricity, this genus is known for displaying a variety of bright colors and possessing spikes on the region of the ear. They also fight using their tails as whips and can detach them via autotomy, just like Gigantamax Toxtricity detaches its tail to attack.
It may also be based on rock music or punk rock guitarists. Its Amped and Low-Key forms may be a reference to electric guitars and bass guitars, with the number of chest protrusions equaling the number of strings on each guitar (six and four, respectively). Gigantamax Toxtricity's habit of detaching its guitar-like tail to attack may be also a reference to an act performed by various artists, in which they smash their guitars onstage after a popular song.
Name origin
Toxtricity may be a combination of toxic and electricity. It may also be derived from toxicity.
Sutorindā may be a combination of strings (of a stringed instrument) and salamander.
