Glittering Cave (Japanese: 輝きの洞窟Glittering Cave) is a cave in southern Kalos. It is where the player initially encounters Team Flare.
Geography
The first part of the cave is a long, narrow entrance cave with several detours. All these detours lead to dead ends, however. The cave walls are covered in Luminous Moss and crystals, illuminating the cave interior. There are nine predetermined spots in this section of the cave that may contain dark shadows, and upon running into one, a wild Pokémon will leap out of the shadow and attack. These encounters cannot be avoided with Repels. Each time the player enters this section of the map, five of the spots will be randomly chosen to contain shadows; upon leaving and reentering the area, the random spots will respawn and be reshuffled.
At the end of the narrow cave is a larger, open cave, where a couple of rock-filled mine carts can be found. This is also where the Scientists from the Ambrette Fossil Lab come to dig for Fossils. When the player first visits the cave, Team Flare members can be found here, trying to steal Fossils in order to sell them for profit.
A colored background means that the Pokémon can be found in this location in the specified game. A white background with a colored letter means that the Pokémon cannot be found here.
Glittering Cave Cards listed with a blue background are only legal to use in the current Expanded format. Cards listed with a green background are legal to use in both the current Standard and Expanded formats.
After being given the Drives by the Hiker in Ambrette Town, he mentions that Genesect are rumored to have been found in Glittering Cave. However, there is no Genesect to be found in Glittering Cave.

↑I've gathered 20 Old Amber in Y by Rock Smash after receiving the Sail Fossil from the Scientist.
Here are the stats: Items total 227, 144 Hard Stone, 63 Revive 20 Old Amber. In percentages this is 63.4% Hard Stone, 27.8% Revive, 8.8% Old Amber.
Around halfway through my experiment (11 Old Amber, 137 items total), I recorded the percentages to be 66% Hard Stone, 26% Revive, 8% Old Amber.
