Yuko (Japanese: ユウコ Yūko) is a supporting character who appeared in Destiny Deoxys. She is Professor Lund's assistant.

History

She works in Professor Lund's laboratory in LaRousse City, assisting Lund with his research and helping him in the task of reviving Deoxys from a Fossil they acquired four years ago at the North Pole. Yuko was the first to see the Deoxys core glowing.

She met Ash and his friends at the Battle Tower facility to congratulate Tory on competing in his first battle. Yuko later sat with the group over some drinks while Tory wondered off. Despite Brock's infatuation with Rebecca, he also flirts with Yuko, and confidently speaks of his work in Professor Ivy's lab, something he very rarely does. Yuko explained to the group that Tory became scared of Pokémon after facing a stampede of Sealeo and Walrein four years prior. She appreciated Ash's offer to help Tory to overcome this fear.

She seems to fulfil the role as Tory's mother figure. She and Tory baked a large basket of Pokémon cookies for Ash, Brock, May, Max, Rebecca, Rafe, Sid, Audrey and Kathryn before the second aurora borealis appeared over the city.

Ash and his friends sought refuge in Professor Lund's laboratory from the movie decoys, and found Yuko still there. She later helped them to flee to the experiment room and remained there for the remainder of the movie. Yuko told the group about the North Pole expedition from four years ago, and informed them of the battle between Deoxys and movie. After Ash and his friends restored the LaRousse City's power by getting the wind turbines turning again, she was able to fire lazer beams at the Deoxys core in order to help it restore itself to its full form and reunite with its friend.

After the final showdown, Rayquaza befriends the two Deoxys and soars away. Yuko and Professor Lund joined Tory and the others in time to see the pair of Deoxys reunited and also fly off. She, Tory and the Professor waved goodbye from the monorail platform as Ash, his friends, Rebecca, Rafe, Sid, Audrey and Kathryn boarded the departing service.
