Beaches are land formations consisting of loose rock particles, typically sand, that can be found near bodies of water in the Pokémon world. They are often home to Water-type Pokémon living in the water or on the sand, as well as Pokémon of various other types. They are also typically frequented by Trainers such as Fishers, Sailors, and Swimmers. Items such as Heart Scales or Pearls can often be found hidden in the sand, presumably washed in from the waves or dropped by travelers. Additionally, Burmy will pick up rocks and sand on the beach to form its Sandy Cloak, a form it will retain when evolving into Wormadam.

In the core series

Kanto

• Treasure Beach - A small beach to the south of One Island town where valuable items wash ashore and lie hidden in the sand.
• Acapulco - An anime-exclusive tourist destination known for its beaches, located in Porta Vista on the Island of the Giant Pokémon.
• Seafoam Island (distinct from the game location of the same name) - An anime-exclusive tropical resort close to Pallet Town near the ocean, where visitors often enjoy beachside vacations.

Hoenn

• Slateport Beach - A large beach on Route 109, located on the southern shore of Slateport, where many Trainers like to battle.
• Secret Shore - A hidden shore with many small caves, ideal for making Secret Bases. It is a rocky peninsula of beach with small channels of shallow water ebbing and flowing through parts of it. There are six Secret Spots spread throughout the area.

Sinnoh

• Sandgem Beach - A beautiful white-sand beach located on Route 219, directly south of Sandgem Town, where a pleasant breeze flows from the sea. Despite the shortness of this route, a wide range of Water-type Pokémon inhabit the surrounding area.

Unova

• Route 13 - A beach route famous for sandbars that cross the ocean.

Alola

• Big Wave Beach - A beach with huge waves on Melemele Island, and one of the Mantine Surf Spots. Located at the south end of the beach is Sandy Cave (Japanese: 浜辺(はまべ)の洞穴(ほらあな) Beach Cave).
• Hano Beach - A beach near Hano Grand Hotel at the Hano Grand Resort on Akala Island. Pyukumuku-chucking is a popular part-time job to do here.
• Heahea Beach - A bustling beach connecting to Heahea City on Akala Island, and a Mantine Surf Spot.
• Poni Beach - A beach on Poni Island with an abundance of nature, and a Mantine Surf Spot.
• Poni Breaker Coast - The southern coast of Poni Island, where rough waves pound mercilessly upon the shore.
• Ula'ula Beach - In Pokémon Sun and Moon, it is a small patch of shore on the southern coast of Ula'ula Island. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it is a beach that spreads on the southern coast of Ula'ula Island. A very popular and busy place for Mantine Surf.

Galar

• Challenge Beach - A beach on the Isle of Armor near the Tower of Waters.

Hisui

• Prelude Beach - A small beach southwest of the seaside gate of Jubilife Village. The area consists of a small shoreline, with an old pier that has a wooden boat docked. It is where visitors from other regions are dropped off to start their new life in Jubilife Village.

Paldea

• The private beach in Cabo Poco - A private beach with a battlefield, located behind Nemona's house.
• Secluded Beach in South Province (Area Five) - A small stretch of beach along the southeastern coast of Paldea, downhill from the marshlands in the area; one of the Ten Sights of Paldea.

Mystery Dungeon world

• The Beach - A beach located southwest of Treasure Town, accessed via the crossroads.
• Pokémon Beach - A beach town with several services and amenities useful to rescue teams.

  • Beach Cave - A cave accessed from the Beach south of Treasure Town.
  • Windy Shoreline - A blustering shore that experiences frequent hail.
  • Freedom Coast - A somewhat rocky coast with walls dotted with moss and small plants.

  • Shallow Beach - A white, sandy beach with a beautiful sea. The weather is temperate and perfect for beachgoers, especially near water's edge.

Almia

• Nabiki Beach - A beach to the west of Vientown where few Pokémon reside. Along the beach is the entrance to Marine Cave, which is inaccessible during high tide.

• Southern Beach and Eastern Beach - Located on Dolce Island were two prominent beaches. The Eastern Beach was the closest area to Renbow Island. There was a pier on the beach that was used for docking the boat that transported people to and from the island. Ultimately, the island was destroyed after the Societea launched a cannon in the Sky Fortress that shot a huge destructive blast of energy, vaporizing the entire island. The Pokémon originally located here were evacuated to other islands in the Oblivia region by the residents of Cocona Village on Renbow Island to save them from the explosion.

• Lapras Beach - A beach where a friendly Lapras is willing to escort people south towards Coral Sea. During high tide, the eastern exit of the beach that connects to Curl Bay is blocked.

Pokémon Island

• Beach - A sunny beach with many man-made structures and objects lying around, as well as a variety of Pokémon. Towards the beginning of the beach, a wooden retaining wall is built into the hillside, as well as a boardwalk descending down from atop the hill and an abandoned surfboard nearby. Still intact and in working condition, a rail track spans the entire length of the course, complete with a bridge to connect both sides of the island's coastline. Near the beginning of the beach lies a set of moss-covered rocks and a wooden structure that, when viewed at a certain angle, resemble a Kingler.

PokéPark

• Beach Zone - A large beach area inhabited by many Water-type Pokémon, lead by Empoleon.
• Seasong Beach - A sun drenched beach in the Cove Area where many Pokémon come to play, home to the Area Keeper, Samurott.

Rumble world

• Bright Beach - A beach level with several Water-type bosses.

Toyland

Several regions in Toyland contain beach areas teeming with Water-type Toy Pokémon.

Aeos Island

• Remoat Stadium - The orange team's side of the stadium is a beach area with sand and rocks. The center of the lower path is also part of the beach, where Drednaw appears to battle.
• Mer Stadium - This stadium is similar to Remoat Stadium, but is smaller overall. Rotom appears in the beach area on the bottom path.
  • During Catch' Em Battles, Mer Stadium has different wild Pokémon. Zapdos shows up in the beach area instead.

Lental

• Blushing Beach - Pristine sands and pastel tones make for a serene shoreline. The Pokémon here live peacefully on the sands of the most beautiful beach of the Maricopia Islands. A pleasant, salty breeze flows over this quiet, sandy beach lit up by the moon and the Illumina phenomenon.

Other

• Cobalt Coast - A beach coast in Hey You, Pikachu! and Pokémon Channel.
• X Resort - The second course in Learn with Pokémon: Typing Adventure, populated by Water-type Pokémon. It's shore is lined with palm trees, many bearing red fruit, and has a small thatch arbor.
• C Beach - The fourth course in Learn with Pokémon: Typing Adventure. It is a sandy beach with rocky waters.
• Isla Asul (Japanese: アスールビーチ Azul Beach) - The fourth area in Pokémon Shuffle. The area evokes a tropical island, with stilt houses, totem poles, palm trees, and a lounge chair under a straw umbrella next to a drink. A sailboat is located in the north.
• Cyan Beach - A beach island area in Pokémon Sleep. This shore of fine white sand stretches to the horizon, kissed by a gentle sea breeze. Many Water-type Pokémon live here.

Pokéwalker areas

• Beautiful Beach - This beautiful sea is a popular place for a Stroll. You can meet many Water-type Pokémon.
• Warm Beach - A very warm beach in the Hoenn region. You can meet many Pokémon not in Johto or Kanto.
• Stormy Beach - Strong waves wash onto this beach. Because people don't visit, rare Pokémon live here.

Pokémon	Description
Tentacool	It can sometimes be found all dry and shriveled up on a beach. Toss it back into the sea to revive it.
Dewgong	Dewgong sunbathes on the beach after meals.
Krabby	Krabby live on beaches, burrowed inside holes dug into the sand. On sandy beaches with little in the way of food, these Pokémon can be seen squabbling with each other over territory.
Staryu	If you go to a beach toward the end of summer, you'll be able to see groups of Staryu lighting up in a steady rhythm; their glowing cores look like the stars in the sky.
Wailmer	On sunny days, Wailmer lands on beaches to bounce like a ball and play.
Gastrodon	Gastrodon eats beach sand for nourishment. There are many Gastrodon at beaches where the waves are calm and the waters are shallow.
Mantyke	Tours that take people swimming with Mantyke are a super-popular beach activity.
Stunfisk	Stunfisk's Photodex entry in New Pokémon Snap states the following: "Do you know why you see Stunfisk buried in the sand at the beach? They’re waiting to shock the first unlucky passerby to step on them!"
Crabrawler	According to its Photodex entry, Crabrawler sometimes mistakes Exeggutor for a normal tree on the beach and punches it by accident.
Oranguru	On rare occasions, Oranguru shows up at the beach to match wits with Slowking.
Wimpod	Wimpod's habitat varies from beaches to seabeds.
Sandygast	Sandygast mainly inhabits beaches.
Palossand	Palossand lives on beaches, but it hates water. It is known as the Beach Nightmare. It pulls its prey down into the sand by controlling the sand itself, and then it sucks out their souls.
Pyukumuku	Pyukumuyu lives in shallow seas, such as areas near a beach; these Pokémon line the beaches.
Wiglett	According to the World Pokémon Ecological Society, Wiglett lives on beaches and in seas, where it burrows into beach sand.
