Latin American dub
Just if you deem it necessary, here you have some of the translations:
- Twerp (Ash): Bobo
- Twerps: Bobos
- Twerpette: Boba
- (Ash & Ritchie): Bobos gemelos (twin twerps)
--Johans 05:55, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Also Bobete(s) (a instead of e) (es) (as) are used sometimes :P YukitoOoO 02:19, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Brazilian dub
Here is the Brazilian translation:
- Twerp (Ash): Pirralho
- Twerps: Pirralhos
- Twerpette: Pirralha

Literal Translation of Jari-boy?
I know Dogasu has one kicking around. It could be added, but I don't know where it is, or what the literal trans was...
Anyway, the pronunciation is similar to Charlie boy, which means stupid also.-Billy4b2004 11:37, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Italian dub
Twerp in Italian:
- Twerp (Ash): Moccioso
- Twerps: Mocciosi
- Twerpette: Mocciosa, and sometimes Mocciosetta
--Firempoleon 12:57, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Hindi Dub
Here is the Hindi translation :
- Twerp (Ash Ketchum): Shaytaan.
- Twerp (Brock): Bada Shaytaan
- Twerp (Max): Chotta Shaytaan.
- Twerps: Shaytaanon ki tolee.
- Twerpette: Shaytaan Ladki.
--♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 04:17, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Lemme guess Shaytaan is a pun on Satan? it just sound alike... if you read it to yourself.--FF(edits•talk) 04:20, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't think so. It's in hindi.
- Garyplusash 01:24, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
In hindi, satan is called as shaytaan (similar pronounciation ). --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
In other languages
As we have its translation available in 4 different languages, shouldn't there be a In other languages section in the article? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 07:30, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- Anyway, I am adding it. If you feel something fishy in it then feel free to edit it. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 13:55, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Contradiction no?
"Fans sometimes use the term as "anyone who isn't a member of Team Rocket". But in the anime, Ash is the one true twerp, and all other twerps exist in relation to him. Attila and Hun refer to Jimmy and Marina as twerps (Japanese: hero-boy). Apparently, it seems that any and all young enemies of Team Rocket are referred to as twerps."
Uhh saying that twerps are in relation to Ash and then calling Marina and Jimmy twerps contradict each other right? --+ Joeshie + (is Mæ!) 00:44, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Prof. Oak?
In AG071 (A Six Pack Attack!) one of them (I think it was Jessie) referred to Prof. Oak as "Professor Twerpy". Should this be mentioned? Nikki 12:41, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Trivia
Should it be mentioned that the term twerp is also used in The Fairly Oddparents? Wildgoose-The friendly goose in town! 23:32, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Filipino dub
Not sure if needed, but anyway:
twerp: bubwit
twerps: mga bubwit
I am sure of the first but the latter is some educated guess. I never heard of the Filipino dub for twerpette, so it means its a blank for now. Harv13 (talk page) 07:48, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
XY series
I heard that Team Rocket calls Serena and Bonnie "twerp thieves" in Mega-Mega Meowth Madness!, can someone add this or not? --Cinday123 (Talk) 04:46, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
The Pokémon
I hear that Team Rocket call Pikachu and the heroes' Pokémon twerps as well. Or referring them as "Twerp Pokémon". Doesn't this have to be added?--Jay 21 (Talk) 13:45, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Deletion/Notability?
Is this really notable? I just don't think the concept of a "twerp" is special enough in the Pokemon world/anime to deserve a whole page here.
"Twerp" really doesn't need any sort of explaining to be understood. This whole page is really just a very basic concept that can easily be conveyed on the Team Rocket trio page if it needs saying anywhere. And the painstaking detailing of everyone who's been called a "twerp" seems much more like trivia than really worthwhile material to me, but if need be, it could probably also be squeezed onto the Team Rocket trio page or else added as trivia to character pages (such as, "Meowth referred to Zoey as the red-haired twerp").
This just isn't a thing that deserves its own page IMO. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:03, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with deleting this page. A quarter of the article is an explanation of a not-too-difficult word, and the other three quarters could easily be put onto the associated characters' trivia sections. Litwick96 (talk) 16:24, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

- I don't think it should deleted, too. Maybe it's a far-fetched idea, but look at this situation: What if someone was watching pokemon anime, and he has the level of Basic English, and he want to know about the word Twerp and he thinks: hmm, maybe its another name of Ash or something, and he looks on bulbapedia in search, he'll find this, and otherwise not. P.S.And then, where do we have to put all the textboxes, it was such a great work? Lokki (talk) 10 November 2015 14:06:05 (UTC)
- Bulbapedia's purpose is not an ESL site... That cannot be the only reason to keep it.
- As I mentioned above, if this does need coverage, the Team Rocket trio page is probably the best place for it; and then this page could redirect to that page/section if you want. Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:31, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- Woah Woah, guys! this isn't the way to settle deletions! let's give it a good, fair vote. PearlSilver (talk) 01:40, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
- What's not, exactly? Discussion? Because...it is. (For that matter, your new "Comments" section below is every bit equivalent to this discussion.)
- At any rate, discussion is functionally equivalent to a vote anyway if you just read and pick out people's opinions. An explicit "vote" like you set up below isn't really a bad thing, but it's not at all necessary either.
- And in the end, all the votes and discussion in the world won't necessarily "settle" anything either; ultimately, the final say is up to staff/the Editorial Board. And that being the case, discussion/"comment" is going to be a bit more valuable as input than wordless votes. Tiddlywinks (talk) 02:02, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
- uh... what? i'm sorry, you've lost me there. do you mean... remove that vote section? because i Can do that, if you want. but um... i don't see why. i mean, just comments can sometimes make it hard to tell what they're equivilant of voting is for in my experience... did i make sense? because it sounds a bit confusing as i read it again. PearlSilver (talk) 02:10, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
- You said this isn't the way to settle deletions, implying there was something wrong about this thus far. And since you added an explicit vote tally, it looked like you meant that this sort of issue must have something like that; and I just wanted to say, no, that's not "required". (And no, I'm not saying you have to remove it.) But now you've clearly explained that your problem was that you consider a discussion alone hard to equate to votes. Tiddlywinks (talk) 02:29, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

- Well, "twerp" can always be defined elsewhere still. It's not required that *this page* exist to explain that—it's not that complicated or special. Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:32, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
- Elsewhere where? I clicked twerp, got the definition- isn't that what a wiki is for? I'm all for keeping at least the first paragraph, having only seen the dub. I didn't know about the phrase 'jari' or its meanings and variations. It's a cultural note that isn't obvious to non-Japanese; I've been wondering for years why two adults are calling a group of kids by such an immature name. LeilaDaegil (talk) 22:06, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
- The easiest answer is somewhere on the Team Rocket trio page. Something to the effect of "Team Rocket almost always refer to Ash [and/or his friends] as a twerp". And I don't see how 'jari' is particularly useful, or any special "cultural note" or anything...
- Most of the places on this wiki that link to Twerp seem to be using it like an alternate to
{{Ashfr}}
anyway, which is kind of...pointless to put it nicely I guess. And it's just a bit ridiculous that Twerp manages never to be linked on the TRT page and is only linked in a Yellow quote on Jessie/James' pages. All of this doesn't really scream "notable" if you ask me. Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:21, 31 December 2015 (UTC)- I believe that if this gets deleted, at least the In other languages section should stay somewhere, maybe hidden beneath a description of the word "twerp" on the TRio's page or something (and only the "twerps" translation, the "twerp" and "twerpette" sections seem pointless). That said, I think we really need a page for anime running gags so we could accomodate all these kind of things. --Gabo 2oo (talk) 20:52, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

I can't remember the exact episode number but it is near the end of the 14th season where Meowth is with Ash, Iris and Cilan to lead them on right before the subway arc. - I guess the article can briefly mention Team Rocket occasionally uses it as an endearing term for Ash and his friends, inadvertently or otherwise. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 04:58, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
