== Shuffle Pokémon List ==
Would it be a good idea to add sorting columns to that? People using the page might use it for planning purposes, and it might make it easier for such purposes to allow people to sort by Type or Skill, or someone might be interested in seeing which Pokémon are NOT there by sorting by NDex; of course, the option to sort again by Dex# (perhaps that header might be better as something else, too, since it's not referred to as a Pokédex, either) would be needed as well. [[User:CycloneGU|CycloneGU]] ([[User talk:CycloneGU|talk]]) 03:46, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
:This isn't something we generally do with such "Pokédex" listings, and I'm not really sure how helpful it would be beyond allowing people to see what Pokémon aren't yet part of the game. I'll have a chat with some other staff members who play Pokémon Shuffle and see what they think of the idea. I'll let you know what conclusions we've come to. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 19:43, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
::No problem, was just wondering what you thought. I recognize that other lists don't do that already, but with the ability in the table and with types already being a good sort basis, it could be useful. Either way is fine with me.
::I do think we should put Pokémon Shuffle as an option in the [[Template:SidegameAvail|SidegameAvail template]] or a related template, however. It does count as a side game. The key things for that - which would then appear on each Pokémon's page - would be the single type and the ability. No entry for the flag means no entry appears for the game, thus accommodating everything not in the game. If done, I can start filling in some info once it's ready and I know how it works. == Editor ==
Hello Kogoro, | |||
I wonder, is it is possible for this wiki to have the Visual Editor tool as a feature? Non-english wikipedia and wikia have it and it is marvelous! That would make editing a lot faster when one wants to edit just plain text and no template or format.[[User:DJWolfy|<span style="color:Blue;">--'''DJ'''</span>]][[User talk:DJWolfy|<span style="color:Blue;">'''Wolfy'''</span>]] 11:49, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
:We've had a number of staff members look into the Visual Editor that is used on several other wikis, and it's been consistently found to easily result in accidental formatting errors, along with having a number of other problems. Additionally, we strive for users to come into contact with and learn Bulbapedia style as soon as possible, including how and where to use link templates and basic wikicode. Since the best learning tool is to see how thinks work and try things out, the Visual Editor heavily hinders that learning opportunity and really isn't something that we're all that interested in doing. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 19:43, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

== Talk pages == | |||
Hello, I was told recently by a site moderator not too long ago that it is against site policy to edit someone else's entry on a talk page, even for something as small as correcting the spelling of one word, which is what I did. These rules should apply to site moderators as well because I recently witnessed on such moderator doing exactly that, erasing an entry made by someone else. The entry in question did not violate site policy as it was only asking why the person can't make changes to an article's page (Volcanion). The site moderator I am referring to is [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User:Pokemaster97 Pokemaster97] Site policy, I say again, should also apply to site moderators as well as everyone else. It's wrong to enforce rules only to turn around and break those rules upon enforcing them. [[User:DarienLeonhart|DarienLeonhart]] ([[User talk:DarienLeonhart|talk]]) 01:00, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
:It is against policy for '''''the general public''''' to remove or modify talk page comments, other than blatant spam messages on their own user talk page. Staff members are allowed to remove comments if they deem that the comments are not appropriate for the talk page they are posted to, if the comments violate policy, as well as several other circumstances as part of their staff duties. Pokemaster97 was duing his duty, and was well within his right to remove a comment that wasn't specifically necessary as the edit page outright states why new users cannot edit the Volcanion article. Additionally, Bulbapedia does not have "moderators," Bulbapedia has {{bp|Junior Administrators|three}} {{bp|Administrators|Administrator}} {{bp|Senior Administrators|levels}}, {{bp|Bureaucrats}}, and the {{bp|Editorial Board}}. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 01:56, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
::In short, they moderate the site, that makes them moderators. So what if I didn't use the official term. So the guy was being lazy by not reading why Volcanion was blocked from editing, it's not a bad thing to ask and asking isn't a violation of the policy. So I disagree, he was not in his right to remove said comment. It was and still is a legitimate question that does not violate any policy. Even if the question may have been unnecessary, Pokemaster97 never explained why he was deleting the message. If it was my comment/question, I would want to know why. But I would still dispute it because it's not an invalid question. Not everyone who makes an edit is going to read every word on every page. [[User:DarienLeonhart|DarienLeonhart]] ([[User talk:DarienLeonhart|talk]]) 02:02, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
:::I just want to note I unwittingly found myself caught up in this when DarienLeonhart restored the comment, I got the edit alert (being subscribed to the page) and innocently answered the question to find the entire section blanked again shortly thereafter. Pokemaster and I have since resolved that (I mistook the edit summary as being directed at me, hence why it was oversighted later) and we've agreed there's no harm in the question and answer being there for future in case other people might later ask (noting someone else is sure to otherwise, and this can now be referred to).
:::Regarding DarienLeonhart's concerns, I've also provided an answer at Pokemaster97's talk page speculating as to possible reasons why certain actions may be taken in the first place (I know nothing about the specific situation other than what Pokemaster told me directly and therefore kept my comments general). I did discuss this with Pokemaster off-site before posting the comment from 1:44 AM UTC. I'm hopeful that the information I posted there might prove useful for DarienLeonhart; I wanted to assist here as I'd rather see this settled amicably (as my concern was) rather than resulting in a situation with a negative result. Mobile March is over, but I saw my first error. The infobox for anime seasons is messed up- the text stretches beyond the borders of the table. Here's a [http://i1271.photobucket.com/albums/jj637/backagain2012/image_zps8mtobdm6.jpg screenshot]. {{unsigned|Neal Cruco}}

== Data structure articles ==
Generation III has a relatively large number of data {{cat|structures|structure}} pages, but the other generations don't. I've been looking at the [https://github.com/iimarckus/pokered pokered] disassembly and other sites (along with the R/B ROM), and I'm becoming confident I can add much information here. What I want to know (for "safety") is: can I have permission to "go wild" (that is, use my own judgement) in creating mainspace pages for "new" structures? (I'm assuming that creating a succession of mainspace pages is one of those things staff would rather we ask first about. It can be hard to tell sometimes.)
If staff thinks I make a misjudgement, a page can always be deleted or moved to my userspace; and if I am deemed to make numerous misjudgements, I would certainly be open to direction. The one thing I don't want is to have to create everything in my userspace from the get-go and get staff approval for each/all, because my experience so far (with my own user pages and with other staff/EB decisions around the site) has taught me that that process is most often anything but expeditious. [[User:Tiddlywinks|Tiddlywinks]] ([[User talk:Tiddlywinks|talk]]) 16:05, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
:If you could create the first article in your userspace, we can give it a quick look over and let you know if there's any problems before you begin "going wild". You are correct when you assume that a large scale article creation project needs staff approval before happening.
:You may not be aware, but we have a backlog of tasks that spans at least '''six years''' of move/merge/split/mainspace candidates and other projects. The staff have been working ''extremely'' hard at trying to eliminate that massive backlog so that new projects and candidates ''won't'' have as long of a wait period before being discussed and approved. Your rude attitude is {{bp|code of conduct|extremely unwelcome}}. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 05:19, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
::I was quite explicitly trying to be polite. I think I achieved it pretty well. I would hazard that it is actually our clashing in the past that leads you to read me as rude now. (That was in fact why I very mindfully strove for politeness here.) I beg you, please try reading again, considering me the levelest supplicant, and not some wolf in sheep's clothing.
::I meant no accusation; only statement of fact. (In other words, criticism; but not the sort with any of the mean connotations.) Fact: things are currently not ideal. If you are working on it: great! But so long as things are still not ideal, I would ask you to consider that ''that'' fact is foremost for the average user (such as I). (And for all you may proclaim that staff are working hard, I'm sorry...but such hearsay is fundamentally a weak substitute for evidence one may weigh for oneself. You patently have strong feeling here; understand that it is ''impossible'' for me to truly comprehend that just from your written word.)
::At any rate, I will figure out a test page...at some point in the relatively near future, I hope. (FWIW, I rather don't expect to bombard the site with new pages, but I do have tentative designs on plodding progress. We'll see, I suppose.) [[User:Tiddlywinks|Tiddlywinks]] ([[User talk:Tiddlywinks|talk]]) 06:10, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
:::I did us all a bit of a favor and went straight for left field =P . [[User:Tiddlywinks/Map header data structure in Generation I|Map headers]] are currently hardly so much as mentioned on this wiki, but I'm in favor of the page 1) because it defines a very major part of the games (that is, ''everywhere'' you visit) and 2) because it rather neatly ties together other important structures that do or should have pages (Pokemon indices, Trainer teams, item indices). If that shall be approved, I think I'll be able to happily add the sorts of pages I want to add. (It may be worth noting at this point that I meant "exercise my judgement" very seriously. I think I know what makes a more or less good page, and I have every intention of seeking clarification if I don't feel certain about something I'm considering.)
:::I'd also like to ask about a couple of things I've been thinking may belong in the Appendix space. I want to know whether I can just add pages there or if I should make a userpage(s) and seek approval first? I want to make a page to go into some detail on pointers, and since that's really not ''about'' Pokemon, I figure the Appendix might be the place it should/could go. I also want to make a page going into detail about text scripts, and while that is very specific to the Gen I games, it's also pretty esoteric, and I thought maybe it should/could go in the Appendix too. [[User:Tiddlywinks|Tiddlywinks]] ([[User talk:Tiddlywinks|talk]]) 03:47, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
::::P.S.: I didn't quite realize [[List of locations by index number in Generation I|this page]] existed when I added the last section currently on my map headers page. Hey Kogoro, I was wondering if you could do a split and move for me. The [[Appendix:Pokémon Stadium walkthrough/Section 3|Stadium]] [[Appendix:Pokémon Stadium walkthrough/Section 7|mode]] pages in the Pokémon Stadium walkthrough have (or will) get to be too big. Can you split section 3 into section 3 with just the Pika Cup and Petit Cup information and section 4 with the Poké Cup and Prime Cup information. The same for section 7; splitting it over section 7 and section 8. Thanks. {{unsigned|Adamws}}
:You're entirely welcome to do both of those splits yourself, as they're required for technical reasons. All you have to do is simply copy the content to the new title, and remove the content from the old. == Template:YouTubeEmbed ==
<ab>Mobile March is over so I can't post it there. This template is broken in mobile view. Considering that people are unlikely to specify the correct YouTube channel IDs (older channels prior to the Google+ integration are unaffected but newer ones use somewhat long numerical IDs—here are some [[Template talk:YouTubeEmbed#Add to list|examples]]), wouldn't it be better drop the two YouTube templates altogether and use [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:YouTube the MediaWiki extension for this]? We wouldn't have to deal with the channel ID problem anymore and we would be able to set width and height sizes like we do with images. TCRF uses this extension in case you're interested on examples (their Pokémon Red and Blue article has [https://tcrf.net/index.php?title=Pok%C3%A9mon_Red_and_Blue&oldid=277037#Unused_.22Battle_Test.22_Function a section] where a YouTube video is embedded using the extension). I'm just not sure if it supports mobile view properly but it'd be worth a shot, IMHO.
To simply embed a YouTube video with the MediaWiki extension, all you have to do is add <nowiki><youtube>(Video ID)</youtube></nowiki>. To specify the size of the embed, you instead use <nowiki><youtube width="[value]" height="[value]">(Video ID)</youtube></nowiki>.
</ab> [[User:SatoMew2|<b><span style="color:blue">Sato</span></b>]][[User talk:SatoMew2|<b><span style="color:pink">Mew</span></b>]] 14:32, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
:Can you provide a screenshot showing how it is supposedly broken in mobile view? It's hard to diagnose a problem simply from the statement of "It's broken".
:We have no intention of changing extensions, as our template is merely a frame for which a [http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EmbedVideo different extension] call is used, and the templates allow us better control over where videos are allowed to be used. As for the attribution cell, that can simply be modified to work better with YouTube's changes. We want people to properly attribute videos back to their uploader. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 02:21, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
::<ab>It's broken because it doesn't scale to fit the width of the screen, thus adding the need for horizontal scrolling. Now, it's not a template that causes a lot of trouble as-is but it could be improved.
As to the attribution of YouTube videos, linking to/embedding them alone is sufficient because the source is the video itself. By requiring the wiki to have the author's alias, you're adding a cumbersome and unnecessary layer of complexity since the video page on YouTube already has the author's information, not to mention that the alias can change at the author's will, therefore rendering the wiki's information potentially invalid. If you want to keep the current MediaWiki extension and the template, then the parameter for the author's alias should at least go away due to its actual impracticality.</ab> [[User:SatoMew2|<b><span style="color:blue">Sato</span></b>]][[User talk:SatoMew2|<b><span style="color:pink">Mew</span></b>]] 17:39, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
== Template Edits Requested ==
I'd do at least two of them myself as they seem simple enough, but the [[Template_talk:SidegameAvail|template in question]] is locked to non-staff.
I'm through verifying 612 Pokémon in the Rumble World Dex, now slowly getting to 719. We absolutely need a variable for that in the template. It would be identical to the Mystery Dungeon ("md") in how it works since multiple areas would need to be allowed, but looking at "rumble2", I think it's formatted the exact same way. Once it's in, I can start adding anchor links to the table where the Pokémon appears when I add the data, and I will start doing that as soon as I verify the missing undexed entries on my table. For that purpose, I'm going to use various Let's Plays popping up, there are videos of the Starlight, Distortion, Plasma, and Legend Balloons (video is as good as playing it yourself), plus I have all of the Balloons myself and am creating a personal list from the game data to use when editing later.
We also need Pokémon Shuffle. There's not much else to do in there until the next event or batch of 15 stages nowadays, so anyone can help out editing that based on the data already at [[Pokémon Shuffle]] even if they've never played the game.
[[User:Super goku|Super goku]] also posted [[Template talk:SidegameAvail#Missing Side-Games|this]] message at the template requesting those as well as Pokémon Bank (I don't understand why for this one), [[Pokémon Battle Trozei]], [[Pokémon Colosseum]], [[Pokémon XD]] (I thought those two were on it already, hmm), and a few others including Dream Radar, which does have a few dozen Pokémon from the Unova days. :We have intention to convert the spin-offs to use the same type of availability templates as the main games, so the templates don't need server-heavy updates every single time a new game happens to be released, and so information can be readily added. ::Ah, that's where I saw Colosseum and XD. If you haven't, I'll reply at the template page (referring to this section) to the user who asked for them in that template. Please keep me appraised of when you finalize how to do it; I'll be in there doing all the Rumble World Pokémon data. Currently at 667/719 in-game on the tally and will likely just put boss info into my list for those who only appear in the one place; there are still a select few others I have to encounter aside from bosses.
::Going through my Miiverse screenshots for anything useful now and trying to take new ones with the Archives in mind. Got a battle with Keldeo in there, even! :::Not to rush, but is there any update on this yet? I know you wanted to start changes this weekend, and I don't see any changes in place yet, so am just seeking a timeframe. I'm busy catching Arceus daily right now anyway (since the types cycle), but am hopeful to get most of my final missing Dex entries in direct game data (ten are Legendaries, six from Sinnoh, but I'm sure they all only have one location each anyway) when I challenge the World Championship mission - the final one - tomorrow, so I'm ready to start updating the information whenever the template's ready. And frankly, I expect many Legendaries in the World Championship. so I'd be disappointed if they are NOT there. Also a couple others in particular I hope to see, too. ::::We discussed the possible template changes during our meeting, and we have decided that the same format as the main game availability is the way to go. == Sylveon misunderstanding ==
Hello! As much as you love celebi, giratina, and pikachu, I am a big fan of the eeveelutions. I went to help edit their pages first, and noticed sylveon's origin is a bit vague. I am very new( only joining yesterday) and didn't know the sylveon origin was still being discussed. I tried to not be biased, as I know people can see a different way than I do. Well, today blisseyandtheaquajets sent me a rude message, accusing me for some bad user and demanding to know if I was their " sock". I was completely shocked and upset, because all I wanted to do was help. Worst of all, he/ she said the staff was going to block me. That made me really upset, because they had no proof whatsoever that I was that bad user, or even talking to me about the issue, instead just deciding to give me a rude text. I do not mean to offend the staff in any way, but to let them know that it is NOT okay to just accuse and block an innocent user without even having the slightest bit of proof. I apologize for all this trouble, but I hope I got my point across. [[User:Leafeon6954|Leafeon6954]] ([[User talk:Leafeon6954|talk]]) 02:44, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

== Talk pages == | |||
When editing talk pages, could you please make sure that the edit is not marked as a minor edit if you are adding a reply? If it is marked as a minor edit, it won't appear on the watchlist unless minor edits are set to show, even if another edit was done before, thereby making the finding of replies harder. [[User:PartHunter|PartHunter]] ([[User talk:PartHunter|talk]]) 08:35, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
:It's entirely optional to mark an edit as minor or not, there is nothing that defines what must and must not be marked as such. And, you do realize I'm the {{bp|Editor-in-Chief}}, yes? - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 08:54, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
::I do know that you are the editor-in-chief, and I was asking politely. Also, as the editor-in-chief, some other users will copy what you do with things like the minor edit flag, and it's pointless to have it if many people set it for every edit. Also, the name implies that it should be used for things like fixing spelling/grammar mistakes or wikicode syntax error fixing, not talk page replies. By the way, it may cause signifigant delays in getting replies from some users, like those with slow/unreliable internet, large watchlists or a slow web brower/computer. [[User:PartHunter|PartHunter]] ([[User talk:PartHunter|talk]]) 12:00, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
:::I am well aware that some individuals may emulate some things that I do, however this is simply not an issue. As previously noted, we have no policy that defines what constitutes a minor or major edit so it is entirely up to the individual's choice whether to mark/unmark specific edits depending on whether they've chosen to automatically mark edits as minor. In my case, the vast majority of edits I make are either minor fixes, or work on building/reformatting templates, thus I have opted for automatic marking. I would highly suggest that users use the watchlist exclusively for pages that absolutely need to have their eye kept on, rather than automatically adding every single page they happen to edit. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 06:16, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
::::If I may add: typically, to me, a minor edit would be something like a spelling correction or a grammatical rearrangement, while a major edit would be adding new content to a page. However, even if I intend to mark the flag, it's such an easy thing to miss while editing. Also, other users may have a different criteria for what marks a major or minor edit, so it's useless to put a policy on it. As for watchlist usage, every single page a user goes to edit gets added automatically if the user doesn't check those same checkboxes; my watchlist was over 700 at one point including a lot of indivudual Pokémon species pages when I helped update tables on a lot of them. The only reason they didn't ALL get added was because others were also helping update information, so those already updated didn't get saved to my watchlist. I realized later that I was getting alerts for every one I touched. I've since started deleting some that I don't need to watch as I tend to look at Recent Changes now. == Update on Projects? ==
Curious the update on whether these projects are a go:
*Icons from [[de:Liste der Pokémon in Pokémon Shuffle]] - or if a different site was who you e-mailed, those instead - for our Shuffle list, to be template-shrunk into the image column rather than used at full size.
*For both Shuffle and Rumble World, template updating on the Pokémon pages, if those new templates are ready to use yet. I'm up to Psychic in the Arceus hunt (5 more!) and my revelations are up to 704 seen, likely another that came to my courtyard since I haven't traveled elsewhere lately.
Standing by to aid both projects. Also trying out getting the highest-quality minisprite images I can out of JPGs; do we have people here who are skilled at touching up images? Even at PNGs, the images would be 24x24 and therefore not the best quality; that said, I've been comparing numerous JPG pictures of the same species and picking out all of the blurry ones, using the sharpest ones I can get. If we can touch up the sharp ones at 48x48 (56x56 with the border, which I already made a solid colour), they might be usable quality. I can put some in a single image and upload it elsewhere as examples before we use any here, or if we know a site already having them they might be worth getting permission for as with Shuffle. [[User:CycloneGU|CycloneGU]] ([[User talk:CycloneGU|talk]]) 15:17, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
#As I mentioned on Abcboy's talk page, the Shuffle icons will be uploaded when and if I get a response from the folks over at PokéWiki. Since no uploads have been started by the staff, I'd say it's pretty clear that there has yet to be any significant changes regarding the situation. Please be patient, communication between multiple EP staff isn't instantaneous as we are quite busy with real life and the concerns of our home wikis.
#We're doing final considerations regarding the templates. Such as how to best implement them, and the issues of what colors to be used for games that don't have "official" colors. When the project is ready to be started, we will start it with some simple examples on articles such as {{p|Bulbasaur}}.
:Could you elaborate on what you're referring to as "minisprites"? There are several sprites over the mass of different games that could fall under such a description, and you didn't specify which game(s) you are referring to. Thanks, - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 00:03, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
::Sorry on the confusion. I'll clarify with [http://oi62.tinypic.com/116ne61.jpg this image] of a few that I pulled from the better-quality JPGs I took. Those are Buizel, Escavalier, Gible, and Landorus as they appear in Rumble World (again, comparing several from different screenshots of each individually to pick the best ones); the thought is using these on the tables on the various area pages. The obvious concern is that the 3DS uses JPG and I can't get PNGs in any way of any of these, nor has anyone I've asked responded to help with something like this. I'm curious if higher-quality versions of these are being searched for and if we have someone who can either touch up the JPG captures or can actually take PNG images of every Pokémon for such a use - or again, if there's a partner site we can ask who already has them and allowing their use (and therefore there's no need for us to do all the work).
::If anyone can touch them up, I can grab everything as I catch it again (as I've said goodbye to a lot of them and have to catch them again). Right now, I have about 150-200 I can work with myself. [[User:CycloneGU|CycloneGU]] ([[User talk:CycloneGU|talk]]) 00:18, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
:::It's possible to convert the JPG images into PNG files by opening them with Photoshop, then "exporting" it as a PNG. While that won't improve the quality of the images themselves, it will allow them to be stored on the server as PNG files, and Photoshop can also be used to merge multiple attempts so that if half of a take is fine and the rest is blurry, it can be merged with other attempts to create a sharper end result. Also, captures from the area stage selection wheel showing the icons in question as Pokémon found in that stage may help with getting all the icons, or at least provide additional material to merge with. [[User:PartHunter|PartHunter]] ([[User talk:PartHunter|talk]]) 16:02, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
::::The stage selection icons are different icons completely, so those wouldn't help in this instance. That said, if those images would be preferred over the ones I'm using as examples here (the ones that appear when a player opens their Pokémon list to select, say, their best Pikachu), then those are easy to grab once I find the last 15 species within my game.
::::I've been using Paint by opening the JPG and immediately resaving the image as PNG (I could use BMP for editing purposes, but PNG suffices). Again, it would not improve the immediate image quality, and doesn't have the comparison tool; I instead copy and paste one over the other and compare them using Undo and Redo, then if needed manually select a bit to keep and repaste that portion instead. The four shown in the sample image are among those I grabbed images for. Landorus in this case was from only one good image of it, but I still have a batch on another computer to bring in for comparison; some of them were horrible as I did single takes then, realizing later that the quality differs between screenshots.
::::For now, I'll carry on with my current list grabs as I have four more Arceus to get before moving on. I know, thanks to the boss battles with Arceus, I have a bevy of Sylveon screens to compare for one image, so that one should turn out pretty good! == New Template ==
I hope I'm not being bothersome, but it's almost two weeks since I last contacted about the new sidegames template. I actually would like to ask if you have a problem with me making a page in my userspace compiling some examples together using the new template to help aid finishing development of it. It would also help get the data for some of the sample pages together in a centralized location using data already on the various pages. If this is fine, which template should I reference? I can read information there about what represents what, or a Bulbasaur example (or even a commented-out blank) can be created initially that I can edit for later entries. Being a userspace page, it should not be high-traffic and should not cause server strain when I'm not editing it or viewing changes, and can be deleted once the template is done and the examples redirected and copied to the various pages. [[User:CycloneGU|CycloneGU]] ([[User talk:CycloneGU|talk]]) 21:30, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
:I don't think that's really necessary. Development is pretty much complete, recently made some finishing touches on my work-in-progress, so we're just making final implementation plans at this point. ::Alrighty. Maybe I'll do some offline stuff. I later realized anyway that it's not so much a template as a layout, so unless it gets converted to a template form, there's not much to do in advance. And since the games have to be able to have highlights changed, a template likely isn't feasible with all the yes/no switches. So yeah, offline work it is. =) [[User:CycloneGU|CycloneGU]] ([[User talk:CycloneGU|talk]]) 13:59, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
:::Actually, there is one more thing I noticed. Shuffle and Rumble World are still missing from the layout, as well. I see you have a commented out area, so my guess is you had not decided on how to treat the cell colours yet. I'll include them in my offline editing and keep tabs on the changes at the Spinoff page with the presumption that Rumble World will be the same as the others in the series, but not sure about Shuffle. I'd go ahead and add the cells myself for working purposes, but the page is in your userspace and you may have a reason for not adding them yet. I see Masatoshi already adding the new template to Gen. II pages. Can I thus safely presume the template is ready to use? And per my edit on the Spinoff talk page, what about my treatment of Gen. VI entries? I'm finalizing my Pokémon list for Rumble World right now and doing a quick pull of stage data based on all the work at [[Pokémon Shuffle]]; I also pulled a list from [[Pokémon Rumble U]]'s links to its area pages, though there are some incomplete pages in the post-game that I can't guess, and I also think some rewards are missing. There is so little out about this game and there isn't even a GameFAQs FAQ; I think people in general shied away from the $18 price tag I'm hearing about, which might be what led to Rumble World and the attention it's getting. The only thing I didn't add in my example is Battle Trozei, but a field needs to be created for it as well and I can start looking at that data later (I'm on the fifth batch of areas now, myself, but think I'm missing some stages). :We'd prefer to keep the conversion done by staff, as a fair few of us are familiar with how the templates work (since they're the same templates we used when we converted the main series availability). You are welcome to add any missing games to any articles that have been upgraded, however. Also, please don't use {{template|indent}} unless the section has gone beyond the 10th indentation. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 10:00, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
::Ah, I have also used indent reset after a conversation had been paused for a longer period of time; I do recognize this was only a day, though.
::I have started the Battle Trozei research, too, so I should eventually have all four games (RWorld, Shuffle, RU, BT) completed once I can find more Wii U information. Regarding conversion done by staff; there are no Gen. VI in anything being converted, so would it be all right, since I'm researching Gen. VI anyway, if I just went ahead and did the Kalos entries since there are only two and I don't think they're getting attention due to missing entries? I usually copy the existing layout from elsewhere and remove what I don't need; I already did that at the spinoff talk page doing an Ivysaur sample from the Bulbasaur one (though its Rumble U data may be incomplete and it's missing Battle Trozei). I've edited the main games layouts before, so I have a familiarity with how it works; that's why I was going to do Victini-Genesect too since I'm also researching two Gen. V games and can add those lines. I'll leave anything prior to Victini for that reason (I'm not researching anything from those generations) and just add missing games once they're converted as 225 Pokémon (Victini to Diancie) is a lot to start with anyway if I do that. All I need is to make sure that my colouring choices are correct. My colours: Battle Trozei and Shuffle, both puzzle, match Trozei; Rumble U and Rumble World, both orange with the others in the group. If I do Gen. V entries, I'll copy whatever's on the other existing few there. Gen. VI is new anywhere it goes and I'll start there for that reason; I think the Spinoff talk page entry shows layout familiarity, and I'll put a Gen. VI sample (likely Chespin) in my [[User:CycloneGU/Sandbox|Sandbox]] so I have one that works perfectly in case something happens along the way where I mess up the editing (so I can go back to it), and I might add a Victini one as well since it's known to be in Shuffle and thus all four games being researched. The sample will have "Not Available" entries if needed in any Gen. V entries; this is only to maintain the default layout. If I finish all of Kalos and then all of Unova, and anything else remains unconverted by then, I'll worry about that then, but hopefully by then you're comfortable with my knowledge of the layout to go ahead by then if needed.
::Right now, I'm off to find a few Rumble U videos of the post-story areas and to try to skim any missing reward data. G50 apparently used a couple of video series too, and I want to finish the post-game zones before looking up missing rewards, though I figure a few (Virizion and Cobalion for instance) are only found as rewards. It's harder having some as rewards AFTER a stage they can be found in. Oh well. Battle Trozei should be much easier to complete both from my play (eventually adding all HP data) and from videos (which let us get where everything appears easily prior to playing outselves). :::I've posted those Victini and Chespin ones in the sandbox. I'm going to work on the Kalos batch via several Notepad windows off-wiki between Rumble U videos. Just making sure my setup is all kosher; it's easy to make changes in Notepad to all of them at once using Find/Replace, hence why I'm doing them there instead of in userspace. If all is good, I'll start copying them in. Doing Kalos first as there are only two entries for each, and five for Unova. ::::For the sake of consistency, it's best that Gen V be handled by the staff crew that's working through the species pages. We have several methods that allow us to better organize efforts, and to keep the work consistent. :::::Yeah, I knew there was nothing to "convert" on Gen. VI. LOL Still some missing Battle Trozei entries I'll get to as pages are created. At the pace I'm going, I figure most of the pages will be done by the time I get to the point of adding the entries, anyway, and then I can probably just add a few that might have been missed (not likely, but you never know) since I'll be driving through with additions anyway. If I run out of things to do and Unova still isn't done, I might just do an Unova user subpage of a few of them to keep me busy and have Glik review it to see if there's any problems with it before I put anything live (since he's doing conversions currently in the Sinnoh area, he'd know if there are problems). That's still some time away, and I still have the format for Gen. V species sitting in my sandbox should it ever be useful (I think it needs the Mystery Dungeon entry added to it before I would actually use it); they'll likely be done before I even get to it, anyway! LOL
:::::I did want to suggest in some cases (for all of them, can also be done after conversion) changing some links to anchors for space purposes in the layout; I did this with the Kalos entries, which include Rumble World (Leafy Expanse#Shrub Forest just reads "Shrub Forest", which I think looks better than "[[Leafy Expanse]]: Shrub Forest") and Battle Trozei (Renegade Meadow#Stage 1 reads just "Renegade Meadow"), and clicking goes straight to each table rather than the top of the page; Rumble Blast could get this treatment by trimming "Autumnwood", etc. to anchor status (see [[Volcanic Slope#Autumnwood|Volcanic Slope]]), while floor data could be removed in Mystery Dungeon entries (consistency, it looks the same as the other entries even if anchors are unneeded); each game has its own best method of display, too (see the Wikipedia essay on ignoring all rules LOL), and the table should be as simple as possible while conveying the most information possible in minimal space, hence why I like anchor links. Of course, [[Leafy Expanse#Shrub Forest|Leafy Expanse]] also works, but there's no mention of the sub-area except by anchor; that wouldn't match how I treat Rumble Blast, but only because "Autumnwood", "Field, "Lava", etc. get reused everywhere. I bring this up as I can convert Rumble Blast (unlinked text) and maybe even Conquest in some cases (I'd need to review these) as I add the other game data; noting GTI already doesn't list floor data, based on a cursory glance at {{p|Woobat}} (only listing Mapless Street and Golden Chamber for a few, as with {{p|Pichu}} at [[Dreamy Island]], and that can even be removed I think), suggests that the rest should match.
:::::I'll stick to data collection for now, I'm just throwing that out there. [[User:CycloneGU|CycloneGU]] ([[User talk:CycloneGU|talk]]) 13:47, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

== Pokémon names in different languages ==
Is there some specific conditions that need to be met in order to list a language under the "In other languages" section in the Pokémon pages? I was thinking about adding the Hindi names given that we already have an article about the Hindi dub. -<span style="background:#000000;"><span style="color:#FFA500"><font face="Old English Text MT">''[[User:Sher-e-Bengal|<span style="color:#FFA500">Sher</span>]]-e-[[User_talk:Sher-e-Bengal|<span style="color:#FFA500">Bengal</span>]]''</font></span>-</span> 17:20, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
:As long as the information comes from an official source, and the contributor demonstrates that they have a good handle of the language, such information can be freely added. It certainly helps if you can provide a source note in the edit summary too. - [[User:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#DA70D6;">Kogoro</span>''']] '''-''' [[User talk:Kogoro|'''<span class="sc" style="color:#FFB6C1;">Talk to me</span>''']] - 08:29, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
::Sorry for interrupting, but I've been adding Hindi titles to many pages now, and I just want to a source cannot be given for all info that we add. For example, while adding episode titles, I watch the episode on TV, write the title down while they are saying it, and then add it to bulbapedia. So how can sources for this method be given ? → [[User talk:SuperPikaPool13|<span style="color:#000;">SuperPikaPool13</span>]] 08:39, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
:::I believe a page that lists the titles might be considered an official source. Does the channel that broadcasts the episodes in South Asia have an official Web site? It might provide listings which, while they may not be permanently in place there, can be verified in the short-term and perhaps later through archive.org. See for example the completely unrelated [http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/tv-schedule.html Food Network schedule], which shows both past and upcoming schedules; your source won't look like that, but there's no disputing any information regarding it because it's an official source. The closest one could dispute is if a different episode or show airs and someone was there to see that show airing. [[User:CycloneGU|CycloneGU]] ([[User talk:CycloneGU|talk]]) 14:36, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
:::: The problem is that the channel which broadcasts Pokémon, here in India, has not updated site since ages....Also the channel which previously did so.......has no schedule detailed --[[User:Upratik 12|<I><span style="color:red">Pr</span><span style="color:blue">at</span><span style="color:green">ik_12</span></I>]] '' [[User talk:Upratik 12|<span style="color:violet">Talk</span>]]'' 15:21, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
{{Indent}}For temporily existing info, we could have used an archive tool. But the site of Cartoon Network, which used to list the schedule, used the English titles only. Any update on the Shuffle icons from the partner Wiki? Worse case scenario, I found [http://puu.sh/gMvFb/118e1c0672.png this] which we might be able to break apart and use. I forget where I found it, but I think it was somewhere on <s>Reddit</s> (no, [http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/114531-pokemon-shuffle/71792012?page=1 GameFAQs], see post 19, more datamining).
