Thanks BigDocFan, I've learnt a lot from you these last few years and I'm proud to now be part of the team --Thespeon196 (talk) 01:03, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Horizon synopsis

Nice to see you writing synopsis for that Pokémon Horizon manga. It's a vastly undercovered subject on this site that I've also bought and read myself. Such a shame that I'm unable to upload any images from it, which I'd really want to do if I could. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:16, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Finnish, it's the first major thing I've written on the wiki. I will probably end up scanning it myself eventually for some images.
Incidentally, do you know of any sources for the genders of Rockruff, Napo, and Dulio? None of them are gendered in the English translation as far as I know, but I'm assuming Napo is female, and Dulio male.
Also, Napo is written as Napo in the first instance, but Napu the next two times.
Any light you could shed on these would be greatly appreciated! --Thespeon196 (talk) 16:23, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
My bad, but I do not. I've only read the English version. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:41, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Movie headers

Regarding your edit on Cherrygrove, I've believe that movies that are not part of the alternate continuity should be placed under the headers of the series they're part of. Is this true? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:52, 21 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

What you say could well be the case, given that Landfish only edited that page two days ago. It just felt a little weird to me that the Ruby Sapphire section only talked about M09. I'll consult other staff tomorrow for confirmation. Thanks for bringing this up with me :) --Thespeon196 (talk) 00:26, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Thank you for your understanding. I hope it can be changed back no problem. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 00:32, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and I almost forgot: I believe the formatting on Slateport was correct previously, as I've been told that locations that have representation in both Pokémon the Series and Horizons can have the "animated series" header. See "Wild Area" as an example. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:34, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
On the Slateport and Wild Area examples, the use of "animated series" as a header is under review, so will hold off changing those for now. Luckily, it is only relevant for a handful of locations that have been visited in both Pokémon the Series and Pokémon Horizons: The Series so far so doesn't affect too many pages. Thespeon196 (talk) 10:01, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've heard as much. I personally support the format used on "Wild Area", so I hope it wins out and the Slateport City article can be reverted to its previous formatting. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:45, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I also feel that the Arceus Chronicles should be counted as part of Journeys, since they're explicitly Journeys special episodes. Probably another thing that needs to be discussed. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:49, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

(resetting indent) My personal feeling is that specificity if at all possible would be best, but it really would depend on the context. But I think at this point it would be best to direct your suggestions to the Project Anime talk page for a wider discussion. Reaching a consensus there would make the result clearer for everyone, and then we can all be on the same page as we make the changes. Thespeon196 (talk) 17:46, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help with the header edits. Also, I have no idea how I had completely missed the Berry Juice article. Well spotted. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 22:19, 25 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

hey no problem, just working systematically through List of items by name, currently on C Cheri Berry. It may take a while --Thespeon196 (talk) 22:30, 25 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yup, figured as much. No need to rush. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 22:38, 25 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

"The modification you tried to make was aborted by an extension."

Greetings!

I'm new on Bulbapedia, but not new to wikis. However, I was trying to save an edit in the visual editor, and I got the error quoted in the heading. I saw you editing a few minutes ago, and I thought perhaps you could help me, as you are a junior admin.

Thanks very much! PawnShop75 (talk) 20:21, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I can't say I've ever seen that error before. I just tried using the Visual Editor and it worked for me. Is the edit you tried to make a large one, either adding a lot or removing a lot of text or data, because sometimes it doesn't let new users do that. I also recommend trying it a couple more times just in case. If it still doesn't work, you could also flag the issue on our Discord, where there are a lot more technically knowledgeable folks than me. Thespeon196 (talk) 20:33, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please don't worry @Thespeon196, for I figured out the problem! It can't make me solve a new user CAPTCHA in the visual save changes screen. Thank you for trying to help! PawnShop75 (talk) 20:39, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Nice one, if you have any other problems don't be afraid to ask. Happy editing! Thespeon196 (talk) 20:43, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Re: Nuzlocke Challenge

What I meant by the edit note is that whenever I try to save the page after inserting a new link, I get the error: "The modification you tried to make was aborted by an extension." If I don't make any new links, I can edit the page normally. I don't know why this is, especially since I'm pretty sure I inserted a link in the past already. It's no big deal honestly, I was just trying to link the Lorelocke rule page, but people can easily look it up themselves. Misin9 (talk) 06:24, 11 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I think the issue might be that you were/are using the Visual Editor when trying to add references. I'm not quite sure why it occurs. If you still want to add the link, a workaround might be to use the Source Editor instead (by clicking edit source at the top of the page or section). Write the reference like this: <ref>[urllink sourcename]</ref>
See Help:Wikicode#Referencing for more details. Hope this helps! Thespeon196 (talk) 13:15, 11 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
It worked. Thanks for the tip! Misin9 (talk) 04:46, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the edit

Thanks for the edit! Will make sure I pay attention to that from here on! (Also just figured out how to reply to messages lol) ThisIsUnexpected (talk) 21:32, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

No problem, glad to help out with your great first edit. Hope you can make many more! Thespeon196 (talk) 21:50, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Revision to the Langtable template

Hello. I've noticed that the Langtable template is missing romanization and meaning parameters, seen on Super Mario Wiki's Foreign names template. Could you edit the template to add these parameters? I have a model of what the template should look like in my sandbox. Apikachu68 (talk) 08:04, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Instead of having separate parameters for romanizations and meanings, we add the name in that language, its romanization, meaning, and any notes in the single parameter for that language. This allows flexibility when there are multiple titles for an entity in a particular language. → SuperPikaPool13 08:33, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, but the code looks less readable when viewed in an editor as everything is on the same line. Putting the name, romanization, meaning, and notes in separate parameters results in more readable code as the information is on separate lines. If one wants to add another name, they can just put a number after the language to indicate another name. (Putting distinct information on the same line when writing code is not a good coding practice as it results in less readable code.)
Also, it appears that there is another template for adding names in other languages, the Other languages template, which does include a meaning parameter, though it is only used for Pokémon names. Interestingly, this template retains the country flags, despite the flags being stripped from the Langtable template, seemingly for not being inclusive (German, for example, in addition to being spoken in Germany, is also spoken in Austria, Belgium, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland). I do see why this template exists, and I feel that the Langtemplate should be restructured to be similar to this template, but with the romanizations in a separate parameter(s). The flags should also be removed from this template, if inclusiveness is what is intended.
Overall, I feel that there should be documentation on how to add names in other languages on the Manual of Style, as it is completely absent on the article, as well as a restructuring of the Langtable template to include parameters for romanizations, meanings, and notes. If the template is better as it is, then okay, but there should at least be some documentation on how to add names in other languages onto the wiki. (Sorry, but I easily get irritated when I propose a potentially beneficial idea to the wiki and it ends up being rejected, seemingly solely on the basis that "we've always done it like this".) Apikachu68 (talk) 13:10, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
This proposal would be better placed on the talk page for the template, Template talk:Langtable, where it can be seen by more specialists in the area. Thespeon196 (talk) 13:37, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Pitch Black

Hello, I see that you undid the edit by WizardyBacon123 on Chaos Rising about the next set being named "Pitch Black". I did notice today on the Pokemon Trainer Club website that numerous stores participating in the Prerelase program and holding tournaments have the Pitch Black Prerelease events listed already. Would that be considered leaks, or since these are on the official Pokemon website, can we trust it as the source for the next TCG set name?

Here are some examples: [1] [2] [3] 𝐍𝐚𝐌𝐫𝐨𝐳Talk 10:51, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I think the info should still be considered off-limits, the fact that the players are now deleted I believe is quite telling. Best to wait for the official reveal, it shouldn't be too long until then.
Thank you for asking for clarification on this. Thespeon (talk) 19:46, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
An update on this! Because the info is from a publicly accessible link from pokemon.com it will be fine to now reference Pitch Black on the site. Apologies for my confusing the situation here. Thespeon (talk) 00:46, 10 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
