Power Trick (Japanese: パワートリック Power Trick) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Generation IV

Power Trick switches the user's raw Attack stat with its raw Defense stat. Stat modifiers are not swapped. The effect of Power Trick may be Baton Passed to swap the recipient's stats. Using Power Trick again will swap the user's stats again, but will not prevent Baton Pass from passing the effect.

Because Power Trick swaps the user's raw stats, a Pokémon that Transforms into another Pokémon that has swapped its stats will copy the target's swapped stats instead of its original stats.

If a Pokémon uses Power Trick and then uses Transform, the swapped stats are overwritten and Power Trick's effect can no longer be Baton Passed.

Similarly to transforming, if a Pokémon uses Power Trick and then levels up or undergoes a form change, the swapped stats are overwritten (even if the new form has identical base stats to the previous form). However, unlike with transforming, Power Trick's effect can still be Baton Passed as usual.

Generation V onwards

Power Trick can now be stolen by Snatch. If a Pokémon uses Power Trick and then undergoes Mega Evolution, the swapped stats are overwritten. However, Power Trick's effect can still be Baton Passed as usual.

If powered up by a Psychium Z into Z-Power Trick, the user's Attack stat rises one stage.
