==2007 Spring Collector's Tins==
==2007 Spring Collector's Tins==
The Spring Collector's Tins for 2007 are unusual in two ways. The first is the difference between the North American and international release. The North American tins begin the Diamond & Pearl Series by introducing the first Generation IV Pokémon to the TCG: {{p|Turtwig}}, {{p|Chimchar}}, and {{p|Piplup}}. The tins released internationally however, feature three {{TCG|Pokémon-ex}} from Pokémon Organized Play promotional expansions: {{p|Tyranitar}}, {{p|Celebi}}, and {{p|Ho-Oh}}. This was primarily due to the difference in release schedule for {{game|Diamond and Pearl|s}}. The second is the design of the tins themselves relative to the promotional card featured. In the previous {{merch|EX|EX Collector's Tins}} and all subsequent Collector's Tins, the Pokémon on the front of the tin matches the promotional card featured in the window. For these tins, this is only true for the international Tyranitar tin, with the other designs featuring {{p|Camerupt}} and {{p|Milotic}}. The contents of the tins remain the same however, with each tin containing two {{TCG|EX Power Keepers}} booster packs, one {{TCG|EX Dragon Frontiers}} booster pack, and one {{TCG|EX Delta Species}} booster pack.

==Diamond & Pearl Theme Decks==
{{TCG|Theme Deck}}s are often the best opportunity for players new to the Trading Card Game to gain some experience in learning how to play the game. Accompanying the {{TCG|Diamond & Pearl}} expansion, the first of the Diamond & Pearl Series, were three Theme Decks featuring the final evolutions of the Generation IV [[Starter Pokémon|starters]]. {{TCG|Terra Firma}} features {{p|Torterra}}, {{TCG|Inferno Zone}} features {{p|Infernape}}, and {{TCG|Royal Frost}} features {{p|Empoleon}}. All of these decks contain the essentials for any player; including a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, a coin, and single-player mat.

These packs were distributed internationally and available in June 2007. Due to the difference in content of the 2007 Spring Collector's Tins, these packs were conceived to make the Cosmos Holofoil variants of Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup available in Western countries outside North America. The Blister packs also come packaged with a mixture of three late EX Series booster packs and an Energy coin in varying colors.

==Mysterious Treasures Theme Decks==
Like many expansions, the {{TCG|Mysterious Treasures}} expansion was accompanied by two Theme Decks: {{TCG|Armor Fortress}} and {{TCG|Skull Charge}}, featuring the Shield Pokémon {{p|Bastiodon}} and the Head Butt Pokémon {{p|Rampardos}}, respectively. Both decks take inspiration from the Japanese {{TCG|Bastiodon the Defender}} and {{TCG|Rampardos the Attacker}} constructed {{TCG|half deck}}s, which were released alongside Mysterious Treasures's Japanese equivalent, Secret of the Lakes.

As the Pokémon Trading Card Game introduced new changes for Generation IV with the beginning of the Diamond & Pearl Series, new products were made available to accompany the main expansions released. Over the course of this Series, a new collection of promotional cards and other merchandise were available in items such as Collector's Tins and various Value Boxes. Below is a chronological list of all the items released during the Diamond & Pearl Series of the Trading Card Game.

2007 Spring Collector's Tins

The Spring Collector's Tins for 2007 are unusual in two ways. The first is the difference between the North American and international release. The North American tins begin the Diamond & Pearl Series by introducing the first Generation IV Pokémon to the TCG: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. The tins released internationally however, feature three Pokémon-ex from Pokémon Organized Play promotional expansions: Tyranitar, Celebi, and Ho-Oh. This was primarily due to the difference in release schedule for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The second is the design of the tins themselves relative to the promotional card featured. In the previous EX Collector's Tins and all subsequent Collector's Tins, the Pokémon on the front of the tin matches the promotional card featured in the window. For these tins, this is only true for the international Tyranitar tin, with the other designs featuring Camerupt and Milotic. The contents of the tins remain the same however, with each tin containing two EX Power Keepers booster packs, one EX Dragon Frontiers booster pack, and one EX Delta Species booster pack.

Diamond & Pearl Theme Decks

Theme Decks are often the best opportunity for players new to the Trading Card Game to gain some experience in learning how to play the game. Accompanying the Diamond & Pearl expansion, the first of the Diamond & Pearl Series, were three Theme Decks featuring the final evolutions of the Generation IV first partner Pokémon. Terra Firma features Torterra, Inferno Zone features Infernape, and Royal Frost features Empoleon. All of these decks contain the essentials for any player; including a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, a coin, and single-player mat.

Diamond & Pearl Blisters

Released in late May 2007 shortly after the release of the Diamond & Pearl expansion were a number of Blister Packs. The Three Pack Blisters came in three varieties: each one containing either one of the three Generation IV first partner Pokémon as promotional cards. These Blisters also included two Diamond & Pearl booster packs, one late EX Series booster pack, and a coin featuring Palkia. There were two types of Two Pack Blisters made available. The first, released more sparsely than the other, came in two varieties: one with Bidoof and Buizel cards, and one with Combee and Shinx cards. All of these cards available were reverse holofoil versions, and could be obtained normally in the main expansion. These Two Pack Blisters also came packaged with two Diamond & Pearl booster packs and a Palkia coin in the same packaging as the Three Pack Blisters. The second type of Two Pack Blister included a Pachirisu promotional card, one Diamond & Pearl booster pack, and one POP Series 2 booster pack.

Special Edition Blisters

These packs were distributed internationally and available in June 2007. Due to the difference in content of the 2007 Spring Collector's Tins, these packs were conceived to make the Cosmos Holofoil variants of Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup available in Western countries outside North America. The Blister packs also come packaged with a mixture of three late EX Series booster packs and an Energy coin in varying colors.

Mysterious Treasures Theme Decks

Like many expansions, the Mysterious Treasures expansion was accompanied by two Theme Decks: Armor Fortress and Skull Charge, featuring the Shield Pokémon Bastiodon and the Head Butt Pokémon Rampardos, respectively. Both decks take inspiration from the Japanese Bastiodon the Defender and Rampardos the Attacker constructed Half Decks, which were released alongside Mysterious Treasures's Japanese equivalent, Secret of the Lakes.

Diamond & Pearl Collector's Tins

The Diamond & Pearl Collector's Tins were released in September 2007 and include alternate art reprints of the three Pokémon LV.X that debuted in the Diamond & Pearl expansion: Torterra, Infernape, and Empoleon. Preliminary release material suggested that the tins were to include the non-LV.X versions of these cards, with no alterations to those found normally in the main expansion. The contents of the tins differed between the North American release and those released internationally. The North American release came packaged with two Mysterious Treasures booster packs, and two Diamond & Pearl booster packs. The international release however, included four Diamond & Pearl booster packs, due to the different release schedule of Mysterious Treasures outside North America.

Lucario Collector's Tin

As its name suggests, the Lucario Collector's Tin focuses solely on the Aura Pokémon Lucario, and is the first Collector's Tin to have a standalone release. Available during November 2007, the tin includes a promotional reprint of the Lucario LV.X card from Mysterious Treasures and four Diamond & Pearl Series booster packs from a selection of the first three expansions. The tin was re-issued in late 2008 and repackaged with a Cosmos Holofoil Lucario from POP Series 8, this time with only three booster packs. These boosters included two from late EX Series expansions, and one from a late Diamond & Pearl Series expansion.

Secret Wonders Theme Decks

Secret Wonders, like the majority of all Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions, features two Theme Decks. Lavaflow focuses on the Blast Pokémon Magmortar, while Powerhouse focuses on the Thunderbolt Pokémon Electivire. As with most expansions from the Diamond & Pearl Series, the Theme Decks take some inspiration from half decks or deck kits released alongside their Japanese counterparts. Due to the Japanese equivalent of Secret Wonders, Shining Darkness, containing Pokémon with ties to the then unreleased The Rise of Darkrai, the Theme Decks take inspiration from the Magmortar vs Electivire Deck Kit, released in the following Japanese expansion.

2008 Spring Collector's Tins

The 2008 Spring Collector's Tins were released on February 25, 2008. As with several promotional items released around this time, these tins focus on the legendary Pokémon Dialga, Palkia, and Darkrai due to their roles in The Rise of Darkrai. Each of the Pokémon are reprints of their LV.X forms from Great Encounters, with the Dialga and Palkia cards originating from the Dialga LV.X and Palkia LV.X Constructed Standard Decks, respectively. The Darkrai card received English-exclusive artwork, itself taken from the promotional advert artwork for Shining Darkness in Japan. Each of the tins also came with four Diamond & Pearl Series booster packs, from a selection of Mysterious Treasures, Secret Wonders, and Great Encounters. The tins were re-issued in October 2008 at Target stores for a limited time with the same contents as their prior release, with the addition of a figure from the Pokémon Trading Figure Game.

Pokémon Countdown Calendar

Released in October 2008, the Pokémon Countdown Calendar saw a rather limited release in countries such as Canada, Germany, Norway, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and sold exclusively in certain store chains such as Toys "R" Us, and via some online retailers. The calendar contains a fixed selection of 24 cards from various Diamond & Pearl Series expansions, plus one random Diamond & Pearl Series booster pack. All of the cards feature a foil snowflake stamp on their artwork; 23 of which are gold, one of which is silver. The DP Promo Pikachu card was featured as the card for Christmas Eve, and as such, differs from the other cards in the calendar by having a Holofoil treatment and a silver snowflake stamp instead of a gold one.
