A Dancer (Japanese: ダンサー Dancer) is a type of Pokémon Trainer introduced in Generation V.
In Unova, they are depicted as young men break dancing. Battling them is optional. Many of them have Western names in the Japanese version of the games. All of them have had only one species of Pokémon, even if that means having the same Pokémon twice. They do not appear to limit themselves to a particular type.
In Alola, Dancers are depicted as young women who practice hula dancing. In Sun and Moon, they exclusively use Oricorio in the main storyline, but that is not the case in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. They hold their Pokémon in Great Balls.
In Galar, Dancers are depicted as dancing young women, who keep their Pokémon in Ultra Balls.
A Dancer and a Black Belt, or a Dancer and a Musician, can team up to form a Capoeira Couple or a Music Crew, respectively, and challenge the player to a Double Battle.
