Dragon Resurgence (Chinese: 专题包 龙之再临 Theme Pack: Dragon Resurgence) is a special subset of the Simplified Chinese Sword & Shield Series released exclusively in mainland China. Dragon Resurgence was first available from March 1, 2024 in specially marked products.

Information

Dragon Resurgence predominantly consists of Dragon-type Pokémon sourced from Japanese Sun & Moon and Sword & Shield Era sets and complement some prints of cards from the Polychromatic Gathering expansion, which was also released on March 1, 2024. All non-Rule Box Pokémon cards and Supporter cards are Mirror Holofoil with a glitter Holofoil inlay.

Like special expansions in Western countries, Dragon Resurgence booster packs were not sold in booster display boxes and could only be found in specific merchandise. Each pack includes three cards. The first wave of products comprised two pairs of gift boxes, one of which included the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Rayquaza (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 烈空坐) and the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Ultra Necrozma (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 究极奈克洛兹玛). These boxes were packaged with one Dragon Resurgence booster pack, one 5-card Polychromatic Gathering Friend booster pack, one 5-card Polychromatic Gathering Origin booster pack, and a pack of 64 sleeves featuring either Rayquaza or Ultra Necrozma.

The other pair of first wave products consisted of the Dragon Resurgence Advanced Gift Box: Fierce (Chinese: 龙之再临进阶礼盒 凛烈) and the Dragon Resurgence Advanced Gift Box: Shine (Chinese: 龙之再临进阶礼盒 辉光). These products feature linework of various Dragon-type Pokémon highlighted in a single color, similar to the prior Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX Advanced Deck Building Gift Box released during the Simplified Chinese Sun & Moon Series. Each box included three Dragon Resurgence booster packs, one 25-card Polychromatic Gathering Friend booster pack, one 25-card Polychromatic Gathering Origin booster pack, and two TCG accessories bearing the package design—a single-player rubber playmat and a 4-pocket card album.

Two more products were released on April 26, 2024: the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Duraludon (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 铝钢龙) and the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Alolan Exeggutor (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 阿罗拉椰蛋树). The Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Latias & Latios (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 拉帝亚斯&拉帝欧斯) and Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Dragonite (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 快龙) constituted the third wave of Dragon Resurgence merchandise on May 17, 2024. Each of these items came with one Dragon Resurgence booster pack, one 5-card Polychromatic Gathering Friend booster pack, one 5-card Polychromatic Gathering Origin booster pack, and a pack of 64 sleeves featuring the showcased Pokémon.

Another pair of gift boxes was released on June 18, 2024 alongside the Gallant Galaxy expansion: the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Goodra (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 黏美龙) and the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: White Kyurem (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 焰白酋雷姆). The final wave of products was made available starting August 2, 2024, which consisted of the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Altaria (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 七夕青鸟) and the Dragon Resurgence Pokémon Card Sleeve Gift Box: Kommo-o (Chinese: 龙之再临宝可梦艺术卡套礼盒 杖尾鳞甲龙). Each box was enclosed with one Dragon Resurgence booster pack, one 5-card Gallant Galaxy Charm booster pack, one 5-card Gallant Galaxy Brave booster pack, and a pack of 64 sleeves featuring either Goodra, White Kyurem, Altaria, or Kommo-o.
