Terastal Gathering largely follows the theme of the Japanese Terastal Fest ex subset, focusing on Eevee and its Evolutions and featuring them all as Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, while also including many reprinted cards from the previous block of sets and a large selection of new secret prints for existing cards as well.
Unlike previous Scarlet & Violet sets, Terastal Gathering is available in only one kind of booster pack: a 10-card booster pack, of which either three or four of the cards are either Mirror Holofoil or have a rarity of or higher. Additionally, all of the set's common, uncommon, and rare cards come in the same two Mirror Holofoil variants as Terastal Fest ex - one with a crystallized Poké Ball motif, and a rarer one with a crystallized Master Ball motif; however, unlike in Terastal Fest ex, Trainer cards and Energy cards of those rarities can also feature the Master Ball motif.
