Akala Island (Japanese: アーカラじま ʻĀkala Island) is the northeastern of the four major islands of Alola. Tapu Lele is the island's guardian deity.

In the anime
Akala Island makes its first appearance in SM011, where Ash and Kiawe visit it to help out on Kiawe's family farm.
Trivia
- Akala Island is the only one of Alola's main islands which does not have a meadow. The island's nectar can instead be found at Royal Avenue. Despite the location not being in the game, a location header called "Akala Meadow" exists in the game data.
Origin
Akala Island's real-life counterpart is the Hawaiian island of Maui. Pink is the island's official color[1].
Name origin
ʻĀkala is Hawaiian for pink.
