Editing comments

I did not see anything on Talk page policy that explicitly disallows editing comments. I'm confused as to why you keep reverting them. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 04:35, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Nevermind, I've searched and it is indeed a rule. I'll keep this in mind for the future. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 04:45, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Update Page with Up-To-Date Upcoming Episodes (ASAP)

All the episodes listed are out of date. Could you or someone please fix this by display upcoming current episodes that are coming and up to date (like the ones coming this week)? Also, could you do this for all the channels and locations?

FYI, I already posted a message on the page, but there are no new comments.

https://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Upcoming_anime - unsigned comment from Macpika (talkcontribs)

The news page is being moved to another location, so it's no longer being updated. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 22:50, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
Also, Macpika, please try to keep your discussions in one place. If a discussion goes several days without being addressed, you can bump the discussion by leaving a new comment. Please avoid clogging up the Recent Changes with multiple discussions in multiple places, as this is not only confusing and hard to keep track of, but it can cause unnecessary strain on the servers. Furthermore, FinnishPokéFan92 already answered you in the discussion you started on Force Fire's talk page once and it doesn't need to be discussed any further.
Additionally, please remember to sign your comments with four tildes ~~~~ so that it leaves the proper timestamp. Landfish7 23:00, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

Thanks. I thought I did add the tildes. Macpika (talk) 00:21, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Please do not replace the unsigned template, as it leaves the incorrect timestamp. Also, when you reply to a section, please indent your comments to indicate that you are making a reply and to distinguish them from the previous comments. Thank you. Landfish7 00:29, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Bfdifan2006 (T/C) 17:43, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

I understand. I just got really confused about the tensing situation and couldn't decide what to do. Every time I thought I had it right, I changed my mind. I'll be more careful moving forward. Landfish7 19:29, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
Instead of editing a page and then immediately changing your mind to undo the edit you just made, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! Atrius97 (talk) 05:51, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Preview button template

When you want to use the {{Preview button}} template, always use it with subst:, so not {{Preview button}}, but {{subst:Preview button}}. --Bfdifan2006 (T/C) 07:15, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

I understand that, I just somehow forgot to the past few times. Hence why I fixed it. No need to remind me when I clearly understood my mistake and fixed it. Landfish7 07:55, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

Reverting

Why are you reverting me? A page for the Season of Heritage is not needed, because all the information is already here. CrazyPikmin (talk) 08:11, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Fixed. Remember to use the DL template to link to the proper section. As for your other edits, we can move this to the discussion I already started on your talk page as to keep everything in one place. Landfish7 08:19, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Re: Preview

I know about the preview button, the problem is that, the server of Bulbapedia are collapsing for periods of time and i cant edite for long time, im sorry --Grizzlyring123 (talk) 00:21, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

For anyone reading this, please follow the discussion here. Do not reply here. Landfish7 05:11, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

Talk

How to add images in Trivia AlolanRanger (talk) 11:43, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

Why you

Why you remove my trivia from JN118 that nothing is wrong about Ash Battle and Tracey last main series in BW142 and his last physical appearance in DP001 Don't remove my trivia without reason AlolanRanger (talk) 07:10, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

I reverted the trivia because they were poorly constructed, unclear in what they were saying, and didn't seem necessary or notable. Please refer to the messages that have been left on your talk page about this. I highly recommend taking a break from adding unnotable/poorly written trivia and instead focus on editing other areas of the mainspace. I also recommend making sure that you are using the preview button and that your edits meet Bulbapedia's standards. Landfish7 07:19, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

why low

you didn't explain properly Leon's charizard is proven to be powerful to take on Flint's Infernape as we saw past it took out Ash pokemon in the past and took on Cythina's garmchomp. Leon took Alain charizard and mega evolve form without munch difficulties at all. you see how I explain. Makes jokes about my grammar but I did my best to explain his power - unsigned comment from Gian9456 (talkcontribs)

Your edits should always have proper capitalization, punctuation, and grammar. You cannot expect other people to clean up your edits for you. Also, your additions were kind of opinionated/subjective and didn't seem necessary. I highly suggest you read the manual of style and remember to use the preview button to make sure your edits are satisfactory before saving changes, otherwise people will continue to either revert your comments or be forced to fix them for you. You also need to start signing your signature properly, as you consistently fail to do so. It's just four tildes (~~~~) or you can press the signature button. Thank you. Blurbs

Please do not add a hidden sic to blurbs, the blurbs are there to posted as written, spelling error or no spelling error--BigDocFan (talk) 09:11, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

Got it. Landfish7 09:11, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

What was the issues

Np one is explaining at all about my grammar this time what is the issues But not getting reason why it was deleted. Why did you not like it. What is the issues. Also you kept the message part in but not the rest. Interesting this kept this time. Not others - unsigned comment from Gian9456 (talkcontribs)

Please keep the conversation in one place. Any further comments should be made here. Landfish7 23:26, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
But its the truth how can it be wrong its fact. he proven to be so strong he the ace pokemon of his team. if u watch the show u have seen his proof that he is most powerful pokemon. - unsigned comment from Gian9456 (talkcontribs)

Rocket Brothers and Sisters

Do you mind renaming the page at all? Thanks! --Quixochitl (talk) 18:43, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

The page can only be moved with staff approval. I'd propose the move on the talk page for Rocket Brothers, or ask an active staff member directly for approval. Once approved, I'd be more than happy to help with the move. I'd also suggest adding the move template to the top of the article. Landfish7 18:50, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Belly-button dynamo

I saw you edit 'belly-button dynamo' to 'belly button dynamo', and I do agree that when talking about belly buttons that would be correct. However, my source when writing it was the official Scarlet and Violet site which referred to the specific organ as its "belly-button dynamo". I guess what I am asking is if official sources or grammar should count the most in such scenarios. Petrichor (talk) 21:10, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

You'll see that even the site uses both "belly-button" and "belly button" where the first is an adjective and the second is a noun. Quoting the site, "Its Belly-Button Dynamo Produces [...] an organ that looks like a belly button." The site uses these grammatically correctly, that is "belly-button" for the adjectival form and "belly button" for the noun form. The page currently matches this as well, "resembles a belly button [...] Bellibolt's belly-button dynamo" Exempt-Medic (talk) 21:28, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
I did not edit "belly-button dynamo" to "belly button dynamo". Please double-check the difference between revisions. I changed "belly-button" to "belly button". Belly button was being used as a noun here, and so there is no hyphen. I already know that it's belly-button dynamo, where belly-button is an adjective. I even said in the edit summary that belly-button is an adjectival form. Thank you. Landfish7 23:33, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Etiquette

This is a couple of days late, but I'd appreciate it if you would refrain from insulting me. I was simply pointing out that the hypothetical presented by Force Fire felt a bit strange, and you even presented one of your own when you responded to me. I was not advocating for the page to be mainspaced or anything. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 10:16, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

I do not recall insulting you. I merely decided that it was no longer worth dwelling on Force Fire's hypothetical, as I felt it was not productive to the conversation. I apologize if I came across as blunt or harsh. That was not my intent. Landfish7 10:33, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
Upon a second look I realize "pedantic" was the wrong word to use. I wanted to convey that I felt the focus on Force Fire's hypothesis was a bit nitpicky and unhelpful, but I understand how the word I used could be insulting. I apologize. Landfish7 10:38, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
That being said, if you felt the word "pedantic" was insulting, then using it right back at me was not what I would consider a mature or appropriate response. Please consider that. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Now how about we both agree to just be more mindful and to make an effort to be more polite moving forward so we can get back to focusing on improving the wiki. Thank you. Landfish7 10:50, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
You could have gotten your point across without the "This is just x" sentence entirely, but I acknowledge that my response was not the most polite one and I apologize. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 11:47, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

Reverting a comment about Night Shade

Hi, you reverted a comment on the Night Shade talk page regarding its ability to hit Shedinja through Wonder Guard. I believe you did so feeling that it conflicted with this rule: "Please check the dates of a discussion before you reply to it. Unless an old conversation is still relevant and there is a good reason to revitalize discussion, comments on sections older than six months old should not be made. If the problems cited in the previous comments have already been cleared up, any new comments may be removed."

The comment it responded to is one of only two results that come up when looking up the interaction, and the definitive-sounding answer it gives is false. The question has come up multiple times recently due to the current popularity of the IronMon Randomizer challenge, and this incorrect answer has been cited several times, so I felt it would be helpful to add the reply despite the comment's age.- unsigned comment from Marche9th (talkcontribs)

Talk pages are for discussing changes to the main article. If you are requesting a specific change or addition to the article, its better to start a new discussion at the bottom of the page. Thank you. Landfish7 09:27, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Is there no recourse for false information posted in the talk page itself, then? As long as it shows up in search engine results and is stated as fact, it will continue to mislead people. Not that I'm saying there are any dire consequences here, but it's also not hard to fix by just adding a correction, there just doesn't seem to be an appropriate way to do so here. Marche9th (talk) 09:35, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Correcting old misinformation on talk pages is not necessary or important work, particularly if the users that the comments are responding to have not been active in years and likely will not see them. People should not be looking to the talk page for accurate up-to-date information, as that is what the main article is for. I do not believe it has ever been a priority to make sure that the talk pages have accurate information, as the talk pages are for discussing improvements to the main article, and if the improvements have already been made, and nobody disagrees, a discussion is probably not needed. Also, the Wonder Guard article makes it clear that Shedinja is not immune to Night Shade. Landfish7 09:48, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

Illusion Canceller goof (M13)

First off, the Illusion canceller DID work on Zorua. It transformed into Tangrowth while protecting Celebi, and Kodai used the Illusion canceller.

Also, when he was tricked by the fake Time Ripple, he said "This can't be an Illusion! But... my Illusion canceller...", implying that he doesn't need to activate it manually (at least that's how I interpreted it). If you still think it's not a goof, should we add it to trivia instead?- unsigned comment from Unowninator (talkcontribs)

I'm not too sure it's notable. It's just too subjective. The illusion canceler revealed Tangrowth's vines but not Zorua itself iirc. The illusion canceler is depicted a bit inconsistently throughout the movie, so it seems strange to isolate this one moment imo. Landfish7 22:50, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
On second thought, this could still be seen as an error since it is a point of potential confusion affecting the plot that is not explained in the film. So I've reinstated it for the time being. Landfish7 00:31, 2 November 2022 (UTC)

Re:it was fine as it was

I am new to the site as I am sure you were already aware, so I hope I'm doing this messaging thing right.

https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gallade_(Pok%C3%A9mon)#Trivia "Gallade is the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that evolves through the use of an Evolution stone."

About that trivia edit, I'm confused as to why you changed my wording from "evolved" with a "d" to "evolves" with an "s" twice as doing so changed the meaning of the latter half of my statement to something other than its original intent. To say it "evolves" implies that Gallade can evolve into something else from an evolution stone once more, which cannot happen as it is the end of its evolutionary line, rather than it being the result of having already done so from its pre-evolution, hence the past tense "evolved" that I used. The closest I could come to making sense of this change is if you were to qualify its mega evolution as being a standard evolution and the mega stone as the evolution stone necessary to make it work. Neither of those is true, but even if they were, it would then defeat the purpose of the former half of the statement as it would apply to all of the other pokémon that can mega evolve as well.

I won't change it again but I would at least like an explanation for why that decision was made. Thanks. --Steev (talk) 21:27, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

Use of the past tense implies it no longer evolves through an Evolution stone. Also, the opening line of the article says it evolves from Kirlia. So if you'd like to replace "through" with "from" then I think I'd be okay with that as a compromise. Landfish7 22:13, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Or how about "Gallade is the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that evolves from exposure to an Evolution stone." Landfish7 22:20, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Or if you still prefer "evolved" I'd be good with "Gallade is the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that is evolved from exposure to an Evolution stone." Landfish7 23:13, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
My concern is that the statement might be taken the wrong way as it currently stands and I think any of your suggestions would be fine as a clear solution. If you want my opinion I'd say your second suggestion being "Gallade is the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that evolves from exposure to an Evolution stone." would work best, but as I said before I won't change it again so I'll leave to you what you will with that. --Steev (talk) 01:12, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I'm always happy to talk things out and reach a middle ground. For now I'll go ahead and change it to the second option, as I liked that option too. Thanks for discussing this with me. Landfish7 01:20, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
And thank you. It was quite the experience. --Steev (talk) 15:59, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
