Trivia
- Furret made its anime debut in A Claim to Flame!, which is twice the episode number of Sentret's debut episode, Tanks Alot.
- Also in A Claim to Flame!, Furret is misrepresented as a Ground-type. However, its trainer Salvador's main strategy is to utilize Dig.
Origin
Furret appears to be based on a ferret.
Name origin
Furret's name is a combination of ferret and furry. It is more similar to a ferret than Sentret. Its Japanese name is a combination of 大 ō, big, and 鼬 itachi, weasel, and may also include 尾 o, tail, and 立つ tatsu, stand, just like Sentret's Japanese name.
In other languages
- German: Wiesenior - Modified version of its pre-evolution's German name, including Wiese (meadow) and Senior (elderly) referring to its higher evolution state.
- French: Fouinar - From fouine (beech marten); although the actual meaning implied by the corruption seems to be snoop.
- Korean: 다꼬리 Dakkori
