Trivia
- In April 2019, prior to the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, CoroCoro Comics May ran a contest where fans could name the strongest Steel-type move.[1] Steel Beam's Japanese name was the name that won this contest.[2]
- The Japanese name of this move literally means an "all-out resistance" (徹底抗戦 tettei-kōsen), while also incorporating puns on 鋼鉄 kōtetsu (steel) and 光線 kōsen (beam).
- Steel Beam is tied with Doom Desire for having the highest base power of all Steel-type moves, excluding Z-Moves, Max Moves, and G-Max Moves.
- Steel Beam was the last move in Generation VIII index number order before the Expansion Pass.
- Steel Beam is the only Steel-type move that causes recoil damage.
