Kirlia (Japanese: キルリア Kirlia) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Ralts at level 20. It can either evolve into Gardevoir at level 30, or Gallade by Dawn Stone (Male only).
Biology
Physiology
Kirlia has a white body and looks as if it's wearing a mini-skirt. Kirlia has skinny, green legs. Kirlia's hair doesn't block its eyes as much as Ralts's hair does. Kirlia's hair has bangs that reach down to its shoulders and the two red horns have shifted their position.
Gender differences
No physical differences, but a male Kirlia can evolve into an Gallade when exposed to a Dawn Stone or evolve into Gardevoir when it reaches Level 30, no matter what gender it is.
Special abilities
Kirlia's abilities are about the same as Ralts's are, only stronger. Whenever Kirlia uses its Psychic abilities, the space around it becomes distorted.
Behavior
Kirlia's beauty grows whenever it receives positive vibes from its Trainer. Kirlia like to dance during sunny mornings.

In the anime
Kirlia first appeared in Jirachi: Wish Maker. Butler used the Emotion Pokémon for a magic act and to fight Absol.
Elijah used a Kirlia in a movie for Lights, Camerupt, Action. The Emotion Pokémon had a "damsel-in-distress" role for the movie it was used in.
Kirlia also appeared in Do I Hear a Ralts? alongside its evolved form, Gardevoir. Both of them sent Jessie, James and Meowth flying when the Rocket Trio cornered Max and Ash's Snorunt while they were hurrying to send Ralts to the Pokémon Center. However, Kirlia and Gardevoir thought that Max was also stealing Ralts, too. When Ralts blocked Kirlia and Gardevoir's Psychic, all hostilities were ignored and the two other Psychic Pokémon left. Kirlia and Gardevoir appeared once more at the near-end of the episode to send James flying (Ralts already launched Jessie and Meowth for posing themselves as a Gardevoir and Kirlia).
A Kirlia was living in an abandoned mining colony in Fear Factor Phony. Jessie's Wobbuffet fell in love with the Emotion Pokémon.
Two Kirlia appeared in Mutiny in the Bounty!. One appearing in a flashback, being one of Pokémon Hunter J's stolen Pokémon, and the other used by Melodi so Ash and his friends can find out where Pokémon Hunter J and her minions will strike next after Ash's Pikachu, Melodi's Gardevoir and Team Rocket's Meowth were stolen.
Kirlia made an appearance in The Rise of Darkrai as one of the Pokémon attacked by Darkrai and having nightmares. Alicia, Alice's grandmother, treated Kirlia and woke it up, along with Roserade and Luxray.
In the manga
In Pokémon Special, Ruby has a Ralts, nicknamed Ruru. While he was with Wally, Wally wound up keeping Ruru after an earthquake seperated Ruby and Wally. Ruru was returned to Ruby when he met up with Wally again.

Trivia
- The fact that Kirlia can be male is a frequent topic of discussion among Pokémon forums. Perhaps in response to this, Gallade was created.
- Unlike most feminine Pokémon, such as Snubbull and Granbull, that have a 75% chance of being female, Kirlia has a 50% chance of being male or female. This is a common trait among Pokémon in the Indeterminate egg group.
- Kirlia shares the same species name with Mesprit. They are both known as Emotion Pokémon.
- Kirlia's number in the Sinnoh Dex (Platinum only) and the Almia Browser are the same: 158. This makes it and its evolution family one of only three families of Pokémon (comprising ten Pokémon altogether) to have the same numbers in more than one Pokédex-like listing.
Origin
Kirlia resembles a ballerina.
Name origin
Kirlia's name is derived from Kirlian photography, a special way of taking pictures that supposedly reveals psychic energy auras around subjects.
