Trivia
- Despite several trainers in Diamond and Pearl having Bronzor at or above level 33, the required level for evolution into Bronzong, Lucian is the only NPC in the game to actually have a Bronzong.
- Despite being based on a bronze bell, Bronzong doesn't learn any sound-based moves. It should be noted, however, that dōtaku are purely ritualistic and are not made to function as bells.
Origin
Bronzong is based on a dōtaku.
Name origin
Its English name is a combination of "bronze" and "dong," as in the sound that a bell makes. Its Japanese name is a portmanteau of the words 銅鐸 dōtaku, meaning bronze bell, and どんどん dondon, the sound a bell produces. Its German name, Bronzong , comes from Bronze and dong. Its French name, Archeodong, comes from archeo-, Latin for "ancient", and dong.
In other languages
- German: Bronzong
- French: Archeodong - From "archeo", Latin for "ancient", and "dong", a bell's noise.
