Walkthrough:Pokémon Sword and Shield/Part 23

Stow-on-Side Stadium

As with the previous battles, these Stadiums can be visited in any order - we’re following the order of the Gym Challenge, and heading to Stow-on-Side Stadium next. Depending on your game version, you’ll find either Bea or Allister inside. Rather than taking on the Dynamax Pokémon as a foursome though, this time it’s just you, although you are able to use your full party as a result. On Sword you’ll face Conkeldurr, while Shield pits you against Dusknoir.

Both Pokémon carry lots of coverage options, and as soon as you enter the Stadium you can’t edit the order of your party, so make sure you have the correct Pokémon out front. Both opponents are quite bulky, but the ability to Dynamax coupled with a full party means you shouldn’t face too many problems. You’ll receive the Gym Leader’s rare League Card after you succeed, and you can then leave to tackle the next Stadium.

Ballonlea Stadium

Bede is waiting for you when you enter, but it turns out he’s already dealt with most of the Dynamax Pokémon himself, and instead what he wants is to battle you! You’ll be thrown straight into the fight, so again make sure you have your lead Pokémon of choice at the front of your party before entering the Stadium.

This is a tougher battle than the recent Dynamax battles have been, especially as Intimidate on the Mawile can be annoying, but the rest of his party also being part Psychic-type expands their list of weaknesses - this means that Ghost-type Pokémon can also be very handy here. With a team of four against your six, it should still be fairly comfortable for you. Both Bede and Opal hand over their rare League Cards after your triumph, and Bede heads back inside to continue clearing up, leaving you free to head to the next Stadium (when Hop eventually stops chit-chatting).

Circhester Stadium

You’ll find either Gordie or Melony inside the Stadium, and much like in Stow-on-Side, everyone goes to take on one Pokémon each, so you’ll pit your full party up against either Gigalith or Froslass.

As this is another six against one battle, and you can order your party optimally before you enter the Stadium (but not after), it shouldn’t be too difficult, especially with the ability to Dynamax yourself. The Gym Leader will once again hand over their rare League Card after you win, and when they go to get things back to normal you can go to Hammerlocke Stadium to take on the last challenge.

Hammerlocke Stadium

When you enter the Stadium, you can find Sonia standing outside the elevator to the Energy Plant, although at the moment she’s unable to open it, so continue past her to Raihan. As before, the plan is for each character to tackle one Pokémon each, and it’s up to you to take down a Dynamax Haxorus.

With the six Pokémon to one advantage, this is a very winnable fight, although the Haxorus has good coverage to hit Pokémon that are super effective against it, but if your team is varied and in good health you should be fine. Raihan hands over his rare League Card as a reward, and just in time as Sonia calls, telling you to go to the door to the Energy Plant to pursue the dastardly duo.
